A nice museum full of history, well reconstructed buildings. It's so nice walking within this ancient dockyard. Might be much improved, especially in signs explaining each building.

Named after Horatio Nelson, who later defeated Napoleon at Waterloo. We had a guided tour with a running commentary. Some of the buildings had been preserved well in a picturesque and sheltered inlet - away from hurricanes. It is the home of Antigua Sailing Race Week, and has a tourist “market” specializing in Antigua and yachting products

Interesting to see the local history, and understand Nelsons discovery of the harbour. Good visitors centre and historic buildings.

If you are a fan of Hornblower or Jack Aubrey this place will feed your imagination .. Not hard to imagine the young Captain Nelson striding round here. Great museum and atmospheric bars and restaurants to visit best day out we had in Antigua
