We dropped in here for lunch and were delighted with the atmosphere, the staff & menu. We had grilled prawns, prawn curry, veg curry & shredded chicken salad which came with a few sides. We spent about AUD $50 per person (half of which was cocktails) and could hardly finish all the food. The staff were so accommodating, played with... More

The single most wonderful experience of our 3 week vacation. The trip to the market was very informative. Heinz is extremely knowledgable, not only about cooking methods but also about the local ingredients and the impact on the environment. This is a must do if you are here. As a matter of fact I can say that it is worth... More

My wife and I just finished the Bumbu Bali cooking school in Bali near Nusa Dua. This was the best day of our vacation. Heinz's passion for teaching, cooking and helping others is something I have never seen! He is a truly special individual that not only teaches you modern day techniques but also opens your eyes to how cooking... More

Having done many bali cooking schools over the years Bumbu Bali was very good, not as hands on as some but still good with a small but varied amount of dishes to prepare and cook. Yhe Young lady instructor was patient and informative with excellent English. I had a very enjoyable time.

What a great day! The day started, after being picked up from our hotel, with a visit to the markets followed by a visit to the fish markets. Both of which were quite an education. Then back to Benoa for the cooking school itself, where we were served a traditional Balinese breakfast which was delicious. All participants were then invited... More

When I learned that I was attending a cooking school I was not thrilled, but I was surprised and delighted at all the things I learned. Heinz makes the class (all day) interesting not only with his tips, but he is constantly testing your knowledge of food and cooking. The day starts at the poultry market, goes to the vegetable... I went to the cooking course expecting to have a hands on experience but i got more of a master class. Heinz was very informative . He challenged my knowledge of cooking at every turn. forget what you know about cooking, he throws it out the window and gives it back to you another way in looking at the science... More

We loved the tips and information. The volcanic mortar and pestle, I bought was great value. We went back for breakfast, it was lovely and we got a doggy bag of what we had left over.
