I participated with my husband Glenn and it was such a great experience. 6am start off to the market in Jimbarin where we tasted and experienced so many local herbs, spices and delicacies. Right from the beginning we were challenged on what we were taught back in high school and learnt so much "science" with regards to food. A walk... More

Nice vibe with an indoor outdoor atmosphere, nice views into open kitchen, great service that was well paced. . Would have loved to taken a class there to explore more of that there is to offer and how to work those crazy peppers.

Wow, what an amazing experience with Heinz von Holzen the 5 star master chef! This guy is truly amazing we learned so much. We didn't just learn how to cook but so much about the culture of the people. "Mama Bali" is an amazing lady. Everything is fresh. All the ingredients we bought at the market ourselves. Our spice and... More

If you would like to understand Balinese cuisine and are very fond of cooking - this is a must attend attraction in Bali. Worth every cent of it. There were 2 options presented how it is possible to participate: start 6am - go to market and learn how to select ingredients (costs more) start 8:30am - skip market (costs less)... More

The most wonderful experience and well worth the money. Heinz was a great host and his enthusiasm for food was inspiring. It was like taking part in a television cooking show.

The cooking class was interesting - the food was great but Heinz was great at putting people down - by the end of the class no one wanted to answer any questions or ask for fear of being put down - I get your the expert, but constantly making fun of peoples responses became a bit tedious by the end... I did enjoy the cooking class, however, would have loved to really cook. I like to be more "hands on". Heinz, the owner of the cooking school, has a lot of knowledge which he is happy to share, sometimes its the "Swiss approach" and you get overruled with everything and his way is the way it got to be -... The cooking class was recommended to us by our driver/guide whilst we were in Bali & so I did it. It was really an amazingly cultural experience and fascinating to learn all the varying techniques both new & old that the Swiss Head Chef Heinz owner taught us. The food was really beautiful and very realistic to replicate the recipes... More
