All animals, including turtles, were ill treated. Turtles were dragged out of water for photoshoot. Monkey tried to get out of cage. Owls couldnt sleep at day time. Hedgehogs were frightened bexause they were caged with bid lizards. Only birds seemed comfortable. This place is nothing but a petting zoo with unhappy animals. Go to Turtle Conservatory and Educational Center... More

This was like a throwback to some horrible 1970s zoo. Little room for the turtles and other wildlife. Thoughtless tourists posing for pictures with animals obviously in stress. It seems to me the poor turtles have jumped from the frying pan into the fire with this "conservation" programme. A terrible way to make money from these animals. Very sad to... More

Paid $80 to go on a 5 minute boat ride to 'turtle island' which I was lead to believe was an island full of free turtles. When we arrived there was a shed not even half the size of my swimming pool inclosing a small area of the beach with about 15-20 large sized turtles with staff pulling the resisting... More

We went to "turtle island" pictures in the brochure of beautiful turtles on a beach... 🐢🐢🐢🐢 ummm not quite. It was a tourist trap with turtles in tanks and fruit bats in cages... I fed a fruit bat and got into the tank with the turtles but it was pretty sad.... I understand why they have to be locked up... More

I was utterly disgusted when I arrived at "Turtle Farm" (but advertised as Turtle Island in brochures and with pictures of snorkeling with free turtles). I can't express how disgusted I was at this site. 1) The turtles live in ceramic tile baths with no sensible attempt to recreate their habitats. The poor creatures are trying to climb out and... All the animals were in such small dirty enclosures, the large turtles are kept half in half out of the water (see pic) and did not move looking tired, not well cared for. They kept saying how they release the animals after 3 months but I somehow really doubt that. Tour guide was nice but dropped hints all the time... More

Visited turtle Island and found it interesting but upsetting. Could not bare to see the turtles being man handled. Groups of Chinese jumping round in the water and screaming ... Children hitting them as poking them whilst staff watched on... Very sad.

Such a disappointment! Turtles in enclosures, staff asking for tips, no explanation about what they were doing to save turtles - because obviously this is not what this place is about. Please don't waste your time visiting this tourist trap.

Paid 800, 000R for the 2 of us to go to the turtle farm in a glass bottom boat (a small are of clear Perspex). The boat spent 5 mins looking at coral reef and fish through murky water before whizzing off to 'Turtle island'. We landed, got pushed around by a very pushy guide who just wanted to get... More

The price of admission is usd40 per pax and not to mention the boat that takes you there the so call glass boat was... More
