We powerful dollar carrying First worlders can stamp this out. Say no to your driver, or hotel staff when they suggest this. This is extremely cruel and I felt bad all day after seeing it. These animals are are obviously dying and being replaced as needed. I didn't know what we were headed for when our driver said this was... More

My boyfriend and were unfortunate enough to visit this "sanctuary" as part of a package run by Bali Dolphins. It is advertised as a turtle conservatory but this had to be some of the most appalling treatment of animals I have ever witnessed. Upon arriving you are charged an entry fee or what they call a "donation" to help turtles,... More

This place is horrible. The condition the poor animals are kept in brought a tear to my eye. Just horrible. The snakes had their mouths taped shut which made me so sad and angry. And 2 tiny little puppies without any food or water kept together in a little bird cage. They were panting. It was the most awful thing... More

A terrible breach of animal rights. Don't waste your time and money. Read other reviews for details. I was very sorry we supported that establishment in any way. It needs to be closed ASAP.

We only ended up on Turtle Island because we purchased a package at Tanjung Benoa beach that included a variety of water sports and the glass-bottom boat to Turtle Island, all for about AUD$65. Some reviews prior state they paid upwards of $30 for the boat ride - not worth it, and not worth going out of your way to... More

Turtles forced to lie in the extremely hot sun all day for tourist photos. If they try to move they are dragged by their flippers and kept there. The other smaller turtles are kept in pens with smelly water so that tourists can pick them up for photos. Other animals and birds are equally badly treated. Where are the animal... More

Turtle Island is another business ploy for the locals in Bali to get money from the white western tourist. We paid 300,000R return for a 'glass bottom boat' to take us there. This is too much. I saw no fish through a glass about the same length and width as my leg. Locals love ripping us off. My partner, who... More

If only I could rate this tour as 0 stars out of 5. As a qualified marine biologist I thought I was booking a tour to see how Bali play their part in conservation, oh how I was wrong. We paid $100 for a 5 minute glass bottom boat tour, I think we managed to see about 6 tiny fish.... More

Turtle island was one stop of many (on an overly bad tour). Like everyone has said the condition for the animals is horrible. They say it's conservation but by the looks of the animals any other fate would make them better off. The "guide" rushes you through the park on a conveyor belt like basis, stopping only to try to... Firstly, it's definitely an over-rated place and pushed by locals or some people who aren't fully able to appreciate and understand the concept of animal cruelty and exploitation. Secondly, It's way too over priced and we paid about US$20 per pax for our family of 2 A and 2 C and one infant. It was really reduced by half because... More
