An excellent day out had by all. Great experience, the kids and adults had lots of fun feeding the animals and learning at the same time. My eldest daughter said "it's the best farm she has ever been too". She and her siblings were able to hold and feed the animals. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. A... More

Arrived at 12 and had a picnic surrounded by sheep, ducks and lovely countryside. The tour starts at 2 and is v entertaining for both kids and grown-ups. Enjoyed feeding the animals and our daughter enjoyed the activities (pony grooming, milking a cow, sheep shearing demo, bottle feeding the lambs). Appears to be a family run place and all the... We went for a friend's birthday party so we had the place to ourselves. It's the perfect size for spending a quality couple of hours. The farmer and his family are very friendly and welcoming. We got to know all the animals and my kids (2 & 5) loved it! I love the honesty of the farm. It is what... More

We visited Boydells a Farm today with my auntie and uncle and 2 children. We had a brilliant time. My children loved feeding the animals, bottle feeding the lambs and holding the chick and ducks. The family were very friendly and it is lovely to go to a farm where you can hold the animals. The presentations very very comical... More

First and foremost it is not a big, commercial petting farm like others in Essex - and for me this is an advantage. It is a little locally owned working farm that give visitors a hands on approach to handling their animals. Today I visited here with family and we throughly enjoyed ourselves - it was not expensive to get... More

Have just got back from a great school trip! The children learnt so much from the brilliant farmer and his family. Feeding and cuddling little lambs, milking cows, holding chicks and ducklings and watching a sheep get a hair cut were just a few of the interesting things they got to do. A real hands on farm well worth a... More

Just over a year since our last visit (Easter 2014). Really enjoyed it then, but even more enjoyable this time without the queue to get in and the crowds. Kiley Threadgold and his famlly must really enjoy doing this as their energy and enthusiasm was still very evident. If he hadn't chosen farming, Kiley would have made a very good... More

I looked for something to do bank holiday Monday with my LO(3&2) that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg! I found this place online and wasn't disappointed when we got here, lovely little place well maintained. It's very hands on my little ones got to pet and feed nearly all animals would highly recommend! We loved it and will... More
