Once upon the time around 1990 there was a master confectioner who thought that all the existing chocolate creations on the market are simply a little bit too boring. So after business hours he started to explore in the quietness of his company’s back room...

There is a very nice alternative to a standard zoo which can also be accessed apart from the fabric for half a price - "Eatable zoo", with animals and a garden which we usually eat, with audioguides in several languages to all that and - the biggest highlight!!! - a petting zoo with mini pigs, ponies, sheep, rabbits, calfs and... This place is fantastic! Whether you are really interested in chocolate or just like the sweet stuff, there is so much to be learned and appreciated from this place. Not only it is very organised, but the attention to detail is fantastic. Take take to visit the park and the restaurant, with some of the most genuine tastes we had... More

Come ready to sample chocolate, a lot of chocolate. Out of the way, but so worth the visit. This tour takes you from 'bean to bar' through the chocolate making process. English subtitles and audio guide are available. After a short video about the family and their adherence to fair trade and eco friendly practices we get to see the... More

Went on the tour here and it was a lot of fun. Come hungry though, there is a lot of chocolate that you can eat.

This was one of the best family outings for us in lower Austria! Reasonable priced considering the amount of chocolate tasting you get to do! You start the tour by sitting and watching this interesting (but way too long) introductory movie about the Cocoa bean and about Mr. Zotter and how he started the business and what inspired him! Fun... More

A great day out for all ages. The chocolate theatre was introduced in German but the film had English subtitles. The tour of the factory is self guided, with a good English audio guide. Excellent fun trying all the different chocolates! The restaurant in the Edible Zoo was very good. Very fresh ingredients and the staff were very helpful. Playground... More

Hats down to Mr Zotter for coming up with this idea of a factory/museum. The tour is very interesting as one can see the whole process of how chocolate is made and also try different ingredients, from raw cocoa to the many many final products. I have never before tasted chocolate with roses or fish, only here :) The shop... More
