Lime Kiln State Park is a great place for relatively easy hiking along the shore with interpretive signs about wildlife, the lighthouse and lime kiln. We've visited this park on a few separate occasions (February and May) and have yet to see whales, but on our most recent visit we did see a harbor seal that was eating near the... More

This State park boasts one of the most photographed lighthouses and some great trails that come out upon wonderful views of the rocky coastline. It is also called "Whale Watch Park" because it is a prime area for spotting whales from shore. You do need a Discover Pass to park here, or can purchase a Day Pass for $10. More

Beautiful Park with a scenic lighthouse. Best spot to watch whales from the landside. A nice short trail takes you through the woods to the shore, where you can watch the orcas if you are lucky enough. Walk along the coast to the lighthouse and the Orca station where the actual sightings are displayed. More

They've just given a "pink slip" to the chap who can mesmerize visitors with his knowledge of the park, and kept the paper pusher superintendent. Over the past few years they have cut down native trees -- to create a native prairie, I was told, but they left the invasive alien invader plants. Then they've burned the wood, putting carbon... The views were fabulous. We were even able to see Mount Ranier. If you stay long enough, you should be able to see the orcas swim by. If you are lucky, they will be just a few feet in front of you. The volunteers there were very knowledgeable. The lighthouse has hydrophones to locate the orcas and the captains of... More

This is a great place to go spend a sunny day for any age (including strollers) the light house was very picturesque and although we did not get to see any Orcas we did see two seals sunning themselves on some very accessible rocks. There are picnic tables everywhere and if we had planned for it this would have been... More

This is a beautiful place to visit. We enjoyed seeing the lighthouse. We went during low tide and my son enjoyed walking around on the rocks looking at all of the sea creatures. A seal popped its head out of the water very close to us. We walked down to Dead Man's Bay to hang out at the beach. It... More

What a pretty place this is. My husband and I thought this was a WONDERFUL place to relax with nature. This is a great place for kids and adults because of all the wonderful features of the park. Plenty of places for recreational adventures. The lighthouse is so lovely and the wildlife is fantastic. Especially if you are lucky enough... More
