Rafting down the river was hands down the highlight of our trip!!! Blown away by the service and amenities. My kids are 11 and 9. Just perfect for our family. We all did the ropes course and zip line as well. The kids liked that even better than rafting. (Not me, I liked rafting.) highly recommend both activities and NOC.... More

We did the 3 hour rafting course with son and daughter-in-law. Everyone had a blast and recommend it to all. Safety course was intimidating but it did make us feel prepared. There wasn't as much paddling as we expected so not strenuous at all. Mostly paddled thru the rapids. Guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. She was able to tell... More

We took our 20 and 23 year old daughters whitewater rafting for their first time. We were all a bit intimidated by the safety video, but once we were out on the river, we had a great time. The trip we did was class 2 rapids with one class 3 fall at the end. We could have handled a tougher... More

Our family had a blast at the outdoor center. All went white water rafting from age 8-66. Had a wonderful guide that made it so much fun. Nantahala river was just perfect, not too much and not too little for beginners. We participated in both the Mountain Top Zip line experience as well as the obstacle course. Smaller kids has... More

We have been here for the last two years. Stayed on property this year in a cabin. The rafting and zip lining are great. We'll be moving up in danger next year but for now the kids had a great time. Even the wife enjoyed the zip line and she was reluctant at first. It's a little oasis of fun... More

Nantahala is for beginners, one big drop and water is very cold. Ducky's are okay for most on nearly all of the river, the last fall being the exception, perhaps. Chattooga section 4 is great if the water is running high. If low, some of the area requires pulling the raft over the rocks. Section 3 is good for the... More

My husband and I rented a ducky for a trip down the Nantahala. It was my first time on whitewater and my husband hadn't been in over 20 years. As long as you know how to paddle you should do fine. Pay attention to the safety video as it will likely come in handy. Don't take anything yiu are attached... More

Did the MountainTop Zipline Tour at the NOC. Excellent day! The first few runs are within the canopy. Nice easy runs that'll help a beginning zipper build confidence. The rest of the runs get wild. The highlight is the 1/2 mile Mega-Zip - yes, a 1/2 mile long zip line above the forest canopy. Absolutely beautiful and exhilarating! Our guides... More

I've been here many times, starting 30 years ago when my parents took our family whitewater rafting for the first time. I recently returned again, this time to take my kids whitewater rafting. As always, NOC does everything top-notch. All the staff and guides were extremely friendly and well-trained. It is obvious that safety is their top priority, and they... More
