If you are fed up by the crowded, dirty and noisy beaches of Mumbai, western area and around, this is going to be forever remembering experience for you. Located 4-5 hours from Kolata - Digha and Mondarmani are beaches with motorable sand and very broad area around. Very less commercial and airy beaches. The flow and waves of water are... More

When I landed in Kolkata, the first place most people recommended me to visit was Digha beach. I love beaches and had no hesitation in exploring it. After 4 hours of journey (last 80 km in a poorly maintained 2 lane road), I reached Digha. The place was extremely crowed even on a weekday. There are no facilities such as... More

Overpopulation and gathering destroyed digha's beauty a long time ago. People from Kolkata go for digha every week as the train connectivity is very good now. As a result of overcrowding digha beach becomes filthy and nasty. The water isn't good for bathing any more. Recently when I visited digha, it's characteristics waves are also gone. So now it's more... More

Digha is most famous beach near kolkata. It is approx 250 km from kolkata. Local people visit here on weekends. You cannot compare this beach with goa beaches. I went in the evening and stayed overnight to see sunrise. Hotels are cheap here. Overall you can visit it if you are not on a right schedule.
