Small family run tearoom, extensive gardens, farmshop and plant nursery on a traditional, sustainable working farm. Wholesome local, organic and homegrown produce feature strongly on the menu. The homemade lavender scones made with organic flour served with homemade strawberry and lavender conserve are delicious. Organic and wholefood provisions can be purchased in the farmshop. Guided farm walks, homereared rare breed Devon beef, fantastic views.

Great cream tea!

Having been staying local to Cheristow Lavender Farm, we decided to go for a cream tea. The cream tea was very enjoyable, service friendly and attentive, but unfortunately we were there at a time when the gardens weren't at their best. Not the fault of the Farm, but our timing.

Lovely tea-rooms with seating inside and out. Delicious cakes and scones ! Also has small gardens around, one of lavender, a rose garden and a beautiful well-kept secret garden beyond the poly-tunnels. Well worth finding this little treasure as it seems as if it's in the middle of nowhere !

What an amazing place, they certainly have the uniqueness of this one right. We were a little early in the year to see the lavender in bloom, so make sure you check your calendar if you want to witness this beautiful sight. The cream tea is presented tastefully, with lovely touches to it, the scones contain Lavender and it really... More

We had a ride out to the Lavendar Farm as it had been mentioned by some family members that had visited previously. A small but charming concern and whilst we could not enjoy the lavendar at its best, given the time of year, we enjoyed the visit. Nice to see the animals about the place. The gardens were pleasant. The... More

First visit for my friend & self and we arrived at the end of the lunchtime period but were able to chose from the lunch menu still. We did have to wait some time for our order but the tea room was quite busy. Lovely melted Brie & accompaniments on flatbread with salad & crisps. Generous portion so no room... More

Nothing special to write about, pricey food which we had to wait a age for and not many people there to cause a delay with speed of service.... Woman serving informed us no dogs allowed so had to sit outside which is fair enough as the weather was kind but we did feel It was little strange when their cat... More

Thank you for your review. We use organic and/or local produce, which does cost a lot more than intensively produced ingredients. This is part of our ethos of trying to live as sustainably as possible. The tearoom is in our bungalow which we share with the public during opening hours. The cats, Elle and Tabby, do have to go through... More

Didn't plan this visit, but glad we found it! Lovely lavender scone, and my husband was thrilled because his gluten free scone was also just as good as an ordinary one! The secret garden was looking, and smelling wonderful from all the roses. Only open Wednesday to Saturday

Thank you for your review. We do try and have "gluten free" options, but it is worth giving me a ring the day before to make sure that I bake something if I have run out. The gardens are amazing in June and July especially with the roses out in flower. Infact as I write to thank you (in late... More

I ate at Cheristow Lavender several times during my stay in Hartland. They cook with organic or home grown ingredients. I'm vegetarian and I was impressed by the selection of food available. The carrot and celery soup with home made bread was delicius. During my stay I also tried a selection of their cakes, I really enjoyed their carrot cake,... More

I am so pleased you enjoyed your time at Cheristow. The French lavender is now out in flower and looks very pretty in their rows. When the English lavender starts flowering next month, it will look amazing. More

I live in North Devon and visit the lavender farm regularly. The setting is fantastic with wonderful views. The gardens are a delight and an al fresco lunch is a real treat. The homemade plate pasty made with home produced beef and the best homemade pastry. The shop is excellent with home made preserves and chutneys of the highest quality,... More
