A very pleasant hike to a 360 promontory that includes an impressive view of the Watchman peak. Perhaps the most desert-like of the Zion trails. We have been to Zion several times and always include this hike as part of our visit.

We hiked this trail due to the crowds at some of the other trails. Visiting Zion on a weekend was not the best idea. However, Watchman trail was great. There were great views no matter where you looked. The trail is classified as 'moderate' but two old women managed it just fine. This was a fun hike and we would... More

This trail is located near the visitors center and virgin river and you walk a while before the trailhead. Better to hike in the early morning or late in the day because of the sun. Take plenty of water. It's strenuous but the views on top are worth the climb. Give yourself at least 3 hrs so you can enjoy... More

This trail was a great 2 hour hike. It was very steep and worked out your calves a lot. My only issue was finding the starting point. There are very little signs to find this hike. It's right by where the RV parking is but it took my boyfriend and I forever to find. The view from the top is... More

The Watchman Trail trailhead is located next to the Zion National Park Visitor Center and the Virgin River. Zion National Park is located in southern Utah about 160 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is also located about 300 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah. This trail takes you one mile up the foothills of Bridge Mountain and... More

This trail is strenuous and was very hot. There isn't a lot of shade on the hike up, and it is UP. Bring plenty water for the climb. I must say that the views at the top are worth the climb though. Take your time, take breaks when needed, and drink up.

This is an easy hike amidst beautiful walls of red sandstone set off by the vivid green trees. Just amazing and beautiful and very spiritual. I recommend going after Labor Day when the park is pretty much empty compared to the overcrowding of summer. Plus the weather is better!

Great hike to do at sunset. Nice way to hike off an early dinner. Bring a flashlight or headlamp for the trip down.

I started out early hoping to get a good view of the rising sun. Although the trail is relatively easy compared to some of the other hikes at Zion, it doesn't offer the same jaw-dropping views. Nevertheless, It's a good warm up hike. The park also offers ranger-led hikes up here so check with the visitor's center for more info.

Like crowds? Like noise? Like trail hogs? Like waiting for the selfie couple to move off the bridge so you can pass? Then go to some of the other trails and good luck with that. Watchman Trail is a nice easy paced climb with beautiful views with peace and quiet. Minimal traffic going up or down and it makes for... More
