Visit this first if possible, as it won't feel as special after you've seen the Kolob Terrace and/or the main Zion Canyon, especially if you're coming from the North (e.g. Salt Lake city), as this is actually on your way to the South entrance.

This trip is well worth the drive for the beautiful views and enjoying Zion National Park's less crowded side. At the top are wonderful vistas so take the time to see this whether you only view it from your car, or enjoy hiking.

Drive this easy five miles from I-15 to the top of Kolob Canyon in the afternoon as the sun is not your friend in the morning. It will take a couple of hours, without hiking, to enjoy the various viewpoints. Very few people here compared to Zion, so there is less of a hassle to park and view. Benches are... More

Just off I-15 Kolob Canyons is well worth the extra time. It is an easy drive to the top and there are lots of look out points to stop and take pics. There are also places to stop for walking/hiking. Restrooms at the top. An easy breezy half day driving excursion from Zion with a tenth of the crowds.

A short detour from I-15, this is an amazing sight. We had an annual parks pass so the cost was not a factor. It is DEFINITELY worth the time, but $25 is a lot to pay for an hour of beautiful vistas if you are from the west. (We are spoiled by natural beauty all the time.) If you are... More

The Kolob Canyon Road is a scenic drive of 5 miles each way with many pull offs. The views although stunning are of the same rock face at each stop. The road is in great shape and has easy access from I15. Be aware that if you are using it as a break from driving the cost if you don't... More

This is well worth the time and effort to pull off I 15 and make the 6 mile journey, that delivers one wow after another. The mountain vistas are dramatic and breath taking. We will be back!

Was very nice and worth the drive up here since the main area at Zion was rather busy out here there were only a few other people around and the short hike out to the lookout was met with only two other people, so that was a huge plus. We hiked out for the sunset and later the moonrise was... More

From the highway, the sign read, "Scenic Road to Zion." Since my next destination was Zion, i took the exit. The road does not lead into Zion National Park but rather a 12 mile loop into one of the branches of Zion. since I had made the choice to get off, I took the Kolob Canyon Drive. I was NOT... More

It's a beautiful drive and doesn't take long, but it is a way from the main part of the park. We hiked the Timber Creek Trail, which is easy. Stop and take lots of pictures!
