If you're short on time, but not on adventure, you can't get much better than this little hike. Named after a little girl who managed to hike all the way to the summit. This hike provides incredible views up top. We visited here in 2014.

This is a great hike for all experience levels (easy/moderate). The trail is just under 2 miles each way. We hiked it on December 19th so the views were excellent throughout the hike. We highly recommend this hike!

The parking area with bathrooms was nice and clean. The hike was all up hill with rocky footing and switch back. Our hiking sticks came in handy. The views along the way are breathtaking as you get higher and higher. We only passed by a few other hikers the way up and back. The weather was cool and that certainly... More

Don't let the full parking lot deter you from this awesome hike! It's challenging due to the steep and rocky trail, but well worth it. The views along the trail are beautiful and the view at the summit is breathtaking! Plenty of space at the top to share a picnic - even with the peak season crowds. Trail is narrow... More

This 3.4 mile round-trip hike is perfect for squeezing in some exercise and adventure while in the area. It is a 1,200 ft climb, but has switchbacks, so it is never too steep. The view at the top of the Shenandoah Valley below is wonderful. The trail is very rocky, so it would be best to wear good shoes. If... More

Did it in early September, mid afternoon - so it was HOT - but 100% worth the climb. The trail is all uphill, switchbacks, etc., so it's not easy. Trail is pretty rocky as well, hell on your ankles (esp headed back down). But it's so amazing at the top...over 180-degree views of the Shenandoah Valley. Highly recommend this one!

Great trip, short hike but you get to see the ruins of an old stone fireplace-still standing. Once you get to the AT you get beautiful views on either side. The view from Mary's rock is spectacular. If you have the guts, and skill, to go to the absolute top of the spire on Mary's rock, the views I am... More

Great short but steep hike - about 50 minutes of steady climb to the summit from the parking lot. Excellent ratio of reward to effort. The view is spectacular, although overgrowth of the trees surrounding the rocks at the summit block a good portion of the view to the east, including sadly a very anticipated new angle of Old Rag.
