A little steep, a little rocky, some straight stretches, some narrow passages, but very doable in about 3 to 3-1/2 hours.

Enjoyed this hike. 360 degree view. Definitely worth hiking and not too difficult. Definitely go on a nice day!

We hit this trail before heading home and it took about 2.5 hours. The trail was rocky but not unmanageable. The views were spectacular.

There are multiple hikes throughout the Shenandoah Skyline Drive, however if you are looking for a hike that isn't too long (3.7 miles round trip), has amazing views of rolling mountains and great sunset views, then this is your hike. Mary's Rock is 3,514 ft up and the trail to the top even has you hiking on the Appalachian Trail... More

We loved this hike. It takes you a wonderful view. Guidebook list this trail as easy to moderate, but as an experienced hiker I would rate it moderate+.

Nice little hike with a nice view at the top. Did the south trail (Meadow Spring) with my 12-year-old grandson - 1.5 hours up and 45 min down.

We started this hike from the Spring Meadow parking area rather than Panarama. I think it is less steep to start out. Passed the ruins of an old cabin...mainly the fireplace. I love ruins! My 17 year old grandson was along for this hike and he really enjoyed it. Of course once we got to Mary's Rock he had to... More

Mary's Rock is not the highest point in the park, but offers fantastic views both East and West. We took the shorter route up that starts at the Meadow Spring lot. It's a straightforward climb up past the ruins of a AT cabin, then along the AT with views to the west and finally rounding Mary's Rock to the summit... More

I have done this hike twice with kids. It is a moderate hike with no rock scrambling like Old Rag. It is really important to have shoes with traction. The view at the top and even going up is just lovely. I have seen it in spring and winter.

We parked at the Meadow Spring parking lot (between mile markers 33 and 34 along Skyline Parkway). Just south of the lot across the parkway is a trail marker where we entered the Meadow Spring Trail. It is almost entirely upward along a rocky terrain for the first ½ mile until you reach the Appalachian Trail. You will pass an... More
