Skyland was a bit expensive for the accommodations. I would probably have given it a higher review if it wasn't $150 for a lodge room. If you do book, ask for a second floor room as we had to go upstairs for the view (lots of trees). The wifi was only available in the lobby of the restaurant. My husband... More

We love staying at Skyland Resort. The rooms are simple but clean. The food in the dining room is wonderful. The cool summer nights are so lovely! Shenandoah National Park is great for children as there are my ranger programs and simple hikes for the little ones. There is a nice large playground area at Skyland that is just perfect... More

I've hiked through here on the Appalachian Trail or several of the other smaller trails, and Skyland is the perfect place to get lunch if you've got some time to sit and enjoy. Or, if you're driving the Skyline Drive and want some good food with a great overlook, Skyland's great too. The blackberry pie is delicious!

We have been coming to Skyland now for several years and always look forward to returning. Lots of peace and quiet. Spectacular views of Luray valley. Also enjoyed visit to Shenandoah caverns.

We visited this park while vacationing in the area and we were glad that we made the trip. There is an admission fee to get into the park, but it was certainly worth it. We rode the entire road from beginning to end and found that everyone we came across was friendly and helpful. There are many different places to... More

We drove the entire road in 2 days, breath taking views, wild floors everywhere, saw deer, rode is well maintained, with plenty of places for picnic, restrooms, get a map when you pay the fee, it will help you to identify entrances to hikes and other important places. The speed is 25 to 35, be patience, it's worth it!

We've not camped in 25 or so years so weren't sure that sleeping in a tent and cooking on a camp stove was really going to be fun but it was. The National Park system is a marvelous entity and now that government funds have been cut we saw rangers weeding around the buildings before and after hours just to... More

The drive along the road was lovely with lots of wild life. The short hikes close to the road were great.

This is a great place to stay along Skyline Drive. Most of the buildings have been there for years and they have a rustic feel to them so don't expect luxury. However, you may expect a comfortable clean room in a wonderful location in the mountains. On top of that, the food served in the lodge is pretty good.

I've stayed in cabins in Yellowstone, Badlands, Costa Rica, Belize, NY, PA and others. They were all less expensive with fewer bugs and were nicer overall. This place claims to have great views but we stayed in a cabin that had none. I was attacked by bugs all night, the beds were uncomfortable and it was generally terrible. For $100+... More
