I enjoyed the beautiful scenic views but I must say that I was not at all pleased with the rooms. The rooms are in great need of renovations. There's no need to turn it into a Ritz Carlton but some serious updates are necessary, the rooms are old and worn and have a very old scent as well. I'm sure... More

We stayed here overnight and we would do it again. However remember, you will get what you pay for as far as rooms go. Pay the big buck and you will get a fabulous cabin with a/c and TV. If you want to save some money you will get a cabin with no a/c, might want to bring a fan.... More

We stayed in a premium lodge for four nights and it was lovely. No complaints whatsoever. The Skyland area still feels like a campground, with complete solitude at night- which is wonderful. Nightly activities or entertainment. Just very peaceful.

So relaxing to stay in the mountains. Cool hikes close by. Nice room. The food at the dining room was quite slow coming out of the kitchen... They may need more cooks. The view from the dining room at sunset was a real treat.

I determined to spend a night in Shenandoah National Park and was headed (from the north) to Big Meadows, but I was told the lodge was full, so I stopped at Skyland. It's the most I've ever paid for lodging, but nearly a year later, it's a memory I would not give up, so well worth. I wound up with... More

If you are travelling through Virginia take time to exit the interstate (81) and visit the Shenandoah National Park. Better stop fora couple of days to enjoy the peace and quiet and exposure to nature. Recommend Skyland over Big Meadows - the views are better and so is the lodge and its services. Our room was recently renovated with twin... More

Great place for families. 6 of us shared a cabin. It was VERY clean. The restaurant was perfect with a wide variety of foods. Loved all of the blackberry specialties. SO many trail heads. Plan to stay a while! Lots to do an see. Just beautiful!

Such a great visit last fall! Colors are beyond words, Skyland lodging is very modern, rooms have balconies to sit out and view the roaming wildlife. Short walk to the restaurant with a view that I can't begin to do justice to. The food was "eh" but we didn't notice because we had front row view of the tree tops.... More

Our family of four, with kids 13 and 15, had a wonderful 3 night stay here. We stayed in the Pinnacles section which appears to have been recently renovated and was within 50 feet of the main Lodge. The room was clean and well maintained. The lodge had surprisingly tasty food. Also had a selection of local wines (passable) and... More
