Once you see the Giant Forrest, this is overkill. Nothing wrong with the hike just nothing new. Wish we had done one more day at mineral king.

I took this trail about a year ago, but I had limited time, so I had to double back to get to the airport. The parking area is accessed from a turn off on the General's Highway, about 5 minutes from the front (western) gate. The road to the parking area is essentially single lane, dirt and steep, so there... More

A great hike through the woods with plenty of sequoias to view. Options for 6 to 10 mile loops. Takes a while to get there on a narrow dirt road. Gets one away from the crowds to enjoy the scenery without the noise.

Most beautiful sequoia grove I have seen, a fairytale experience. An easy hike through a lush grove of well preserved sequoias, with little fire or lightening damage. Great for kids.

I'll start by saying that this is the closest natural Sequoia grove to the Fresno/highway 180 park entrance outside the smaller General Sherman Tree grove near the Grants Grove Visitors Center. The drive to the parking lot is 2 miles down a narrow unpaved road (no RVs allowed) where you can view many Sequoias along the way that have been... More

These may not be the oldest, nor the largest, redwoods you'll see in the park, this trail definitely has the highest concentration of redwoods out of all the trails I had the opportunity to hike. Definitely check it out, and you can see the entire life cycle of the giant sequoia. Maybe you'll even see a few saplings here and... More

This is a wonderful fall hike in King's Canyon National Park, California. Of course you can hike here other times of the years as well, but fall is really prime time! The trail first leads you downhill, and you can stop at any time to get back uphill again. But don't rush back. Leave yourself 3-4 hours for this beautiful... More
