'Scenic Byway' is an understatement! This circuitous path to glorious views is left to those who know how to shift to avoid braking constantly! The views are breathtaking and change along with the movement of the sun. Beautiful.

The sights along the drive were fantastic, the views as you descend into the canyon are stunning. I recommend stopping at Canyon viewpoint, Zumwalt Meadow, Roaring river falls, and Roads end. Expect a long downhill on your way from Grant Grove to Roads End, use engine braking!

I drove this road in June from Grant Grove to Roads End in order to pick up the trail for Mist Falls. This road is incredible, undoubtedly one of the most spectacular drives i've ever taken - steep cliff walls on both sides, the road hugging the edge, running along side the beautiful rushing white water of the Kings River... This is without doubt one the most incredibly beautiful places I have ever seen. If you get a chance to drive thru Kings Canyon then don't miss it

Like others, I'd rate this as the highlight of our Sequoia/Kings Canyon trip (granted we didn't do any backpacking). One of the most impressive drives I've had, with steep canyon walls of multicolored rock and a gorgeous white water river. Don't leave the parks without seeing this stretch of road!

For me, this was the highlight of our visit to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP. You drive through the mountains and have great views. Walk to the Roaring River Falls and through Zumwalt Meadow.

We totally had an awesome ride to Cedar Grove Village and back: steep ascents & descents, hairpin turns, and breathtaking views all along the way! What made it even better was that we had the road to ourselves…Sweet! If you take this drive during peak season, you may get stuck behind a bunch of timid drivers. If you don’t mind... More

Hairpin turns, incredible vistas, relative seclusion--this road has it all. Driving enthusiasts will love it. We didn't even have to step out of the car to experience nature. A large male black bear crossed right in front of us near the meadow. If you're driving straight through from Grant Grove to Roads End, expect the 30 miles to take about... More

Despite being in the park at the height of tourist season, there were far fewer cars on this road than expected. But at the end of the road, there was a parking lot filled to capacity, so if you're planning to camp here, you should reserve. The view is nice, but not awesome like other parts of the Sierras. I... The rangers told me that only about one out of five visitors bothers to take the highway thru the canyon. That is a real shame as it has scenery that far outshines the rest of the park
