Great views but a tough drive up and down. Plan to take it slow, enjoy all the viewpoints and not drive back home 6 hours afterwards! Wish we would have had time to stop by Lake Hume. Grizzly Falls is pretty, but not spectacular so don't go just for that.

Great twisting turning road with some of the most spectacular scenery. Plenty of stopping off points.

We came here for one day, and after seeing Sequoia Park I wanted to see Kings Canyon. I am a native Californian and had NO idea how beautiful this place is. Everyone goes to Yosemite, but Kings Canyon is unspoiled natural beauty at its finest. The drive in is very long and twisty. Just take your time and pull off... More

We loved driving, but didn't realize how long it was and how hot it was at the bottom, but it kept our attention.

We enjoyed this drive as much as seeing the Sequoias. Be sure and take snacks and something to drink as services are limited.

Every one should see this. Take your time, drive careful, road can be dangerous and you don't know what you'll see. Bear

Kings Canyon is said to vie with Hell's Canyon for the deepest in the United States! The Scenic Byway takes you though the actual canyon. It certainly is rugged...and your cell phones may not connect. We drove to the end of the road, stopping along the way for photos of the waterfalls, ponds, streams and to take mini-hikes. What a... Kings Canyon is beautiful and this well maintained road makes visiting it very easy. Lots of overlooks and vistas. It runs along Kings river much of the way, which is very pretty, and the canyon itself is beautiful. Zumwalt Meadow is a very nice, easy hike. Cedar Grove Lodge is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and is nice for... More

Beauty is outstanding, and crowds are small. Hike just a little and see nature at its best without other people around you.
