The ranger we met here (Joshua) was extremely friendly and helpful. He gave us an excellent set of recommendations for not only our local visit, but also our visit to their neighbor to the north, Yosemite. The gifts in the store were also really nice and were a great selection. The educational 'hallway' along the side was also well maintained... More

The people who work here are amazing. I left my purse at the Grant Grove parking lot while taking a picture and when I returned it was gone. This was very upsetting to me because we were travelling from out of state and I had EVERYTHING in there. I thought someone would turn it into the Visitor Center but they... More

They will loan you a wheelchair to help see the trees. Very helpful in guiding us to get the most out of our visit, if in doubt, ask, they are very nice.

Our counter helper was very specific in recommending what we should spend our limited time driving to see. She was patient and pleasant and enthusiastic about the area we asked about.

Out of all the national parks I have been to, I have seen my fair share of visitor centers. This one was ok. It wasn't the best I have been to but it was set up nice and was clean. The exhibits weren't as updated as they could have been but the rangers were helpful and the volunteers were on... More

There is a movie that one can sit down and watch which was relaxing and informative, the gifts were less expensive here than those at Sequoia Park Gift shop. Both parks have both park memorabilia in them so do not think if you do not get it now, you will miss out on having something to remind you of your... More

Yes, the people at the visitor center were very knowledgable and were very helpful. There was also a post office, a general store which was adequately equipped, and a nice gift shop. Rest rooms were available. This is where you would check in if you were staying at the John Muir Lodge. There is a restaurant there also. (My momma... More
