There is a movie that one can sit down and watch which was relaxing and informative, the gifts were less expensive here than those at Sequoia Park Gift shop. Both parks have both park memorabilia in them so do not think if you do not get it now, you will miss out on having something to remind you of your... More

Yes, the people at the visitor center were very knowledgable and were very helpful. There was also a post office, a general store which was adequately equipped, and a nice gift shop. Rest rooms were available. This is where you would check in if you were staying at the John Muir Lodge. There is a restaurant there also. (My momma... More

We had a great time looking at the souveniers here - the sales staff were very friendly and helpful. They told us where we could get gas and some highlights of what to see.

The time talking to park employees and volunteers really paid off. The information they gave directed us to beautiful points. We only had one night in the park and because of their helpfulness we were able to see so much.

The people who work here were friendly and helpful despite the repetition of questions and the variety of clients. One feels welcome and the accessibility of supplies, whether for camping or for tourism is good. I really wish however that all National Parks would stock American made items only. I would pay more for that!

Excellent source of information about King's Canyon NP with displays, films, information desk, souvenirs, maps, etc. Nice "regular" restrooms before heading into park.

Not to talkative to be working here. Didn't know cost of things either. BTW? NO phone service if your Verizon for entire trip there! Asked about Cabins, they didn't know how much for that either LOL... but it was nice store.

The food in the restaurant at the Grant Grove visitor centre was unexpectedly good! Great spot to have a bite to eat.

Nice place to visit, gather information, take a snack and soak up the feel of the place before venturing out for another spectacular walk.

This National Park Service visitor center is conveniently located on Generals Highway, just a short distance from the junction of Highways 198 and 180. It provides a good introduction to the parks (maps, guides, etc.) and across the street is a nice little restaurant, where you can grab a bite to eat before heading on to either of the parks.
