This was our first hiking experience in Colorado with our four kids, ages 3,5,7, and 9. We had just arrived in Estes Park, and went directly to Lily Lake to stretch our legs after being in the car for 1 1/2 days. We walked around the lake and hiked up the trails on one side. The views were out of... More

This easy hiking trail was on Route 7. We stopped here for a quick hike on our way back to Denver from Estes Park. Route 7 is a great road, and very beautiful drive. Lily Lake has either a regular loop around the lake, or you can take a side trail up the mountain (1.1 miles) which we did. It... More

Saw the most amazing deer! Only a few feet away just stood there and looked at us without moving! So beautiful!

This is a walk not a hike but it is very beautiful and easily accessed. The lake is lovely and a great picture opportunity without a lot of work. I think this a good opportunity for families with young children or older adults

This is a very serene and beautiful lake, located about a 20 min drive away from the Heart of Estes Park. For people visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and staying in Estes Park, this will be off route. So this short trip usually fits the bill if you are out early in the morning for catching a Sunrise, then you... More

We chose this lake because it has a flat easy walk for a member of our family who could not do elevations. The nice part of this is that there is a hiking trail that led the more adventurous of our family to some climbing stone crags. While the one member of our party relaxed and enjoyed the view on... A nice flat walk around a lake with mountain views. Get here earlier in the day to avoid the big crowds that gather from late morning until the evening.

Lily Lake is well worth the hike to get to see this exquisite lake. We would definitely hike to this lake again to enjoy the scenery and peaceful tranquility that Lily Lake has to offer.

June 2015 I have walked and hiked the ridge around Lily Lake many times. The latest was in June 2015. The lake is an easy walk and the ridge around is a little steep in some areas but not challenging. There are some beaver dams, diving ducks, and a lot of hummingbird activity around the lake. I would recommend it... More
