It's 4.5 miles from the parking lot at Longs Peak trailhead also the starting point for Chasm Lake. The first couple miles climb steadily up through the forest and the trail is well maintained. Once you exit the forest and enter the alpine tundra zone the views open up and the stunted trees lining the trail soon disappear. Be advised... More

We had limited time to hike in the Rockies and chose the Chasm Lake Trail based on reviews. This hike is amazing. The hike takes about 6 hours round trip.
