I just spent 2 days at the park and used Trail Ridge Road as my starting point for many great experiences. From the east side at Estes Park, we took the Trail Ridge Road to Bear Lake Road and immediately saw Elk right next to the road. On the road to Bear Lake we saw a mama black bear &... more

Our family(kids ages 12,7,6) just loved this road and also Old Fall River Road. There were many scenic places to stop and we saw 50 elk not too far down from the visitors center. more

This was a wonderful afternoon of seeing some amazing sights. You do need at least three hours to make it to the Continental Divide. Their were so many nice spots for photos. It was a bit frightening driving on the road with the drop off so far below, but worth seeing if you are near the place. more

We got there too late! 10 AM and all of the animals were hiding. I hear it's one of the best places to see wildlife though. Even without the animals, this place was remarkable. Trail Ridge Road -- BE CAREFUL! Windy, cliffs ... you get the idea. It's not the most dangerous road in the world, so don't sweat it.... more

Have drivin through quite a few passes in CO and this is definately up there with the others. Longs Peak is gorgeous. Plenty of opportunities to take pictures and many picturesque sites. Also so the most wildlife of any pass going up here (which was most likely just pure luck). more

Driving Trail Ridge Road_______ Like most of the other mornings, we woke up at 5:30 (mountain time). Today it was important that we got an early start. We wanted to be done driving and hiking Trail Ridge Road (which we nicknamed mile high road) by 1 PM (for weather reasons - every day we had been here it did in... more

We stopped down at the visitor center in Estes Park to get the local weather for the mountains. We were there in late September and the snow storms were already starting to dump a lot of snow in the mountains. The road was closed half way up but we had to see it for ourselves. My daughter drove and I... more

We came to Estes Park on October 8, 05 and stayed at the McGregor cabins (which are wonderful) and have spent every day this week in the park and Trail Ridge Road is our favorite. Every turn, every angle, every change of light and weather leaves you with a new wonder - a new spectacle of absolute beauty. Do be... more
