A nice hike leading to the waterfall. The greenery all along the way is enjoyable. You also get to see creeks with crystal clear water. Once you reach the falls, you can continue the hike further or choose to return.

This was an amazing waterfall within an easy 0.8 mile hike from the parking lot. We carried a 2 year old on our backs the whole way and didn't die. The falls were raging, even in August. Very cool and a must see.

About a mile and a half round trip to get to the falls and back. Gorgeous falls- was worth the easy hike. Don't look down when walking over the bridge to the falls if you're afraid of heights!

Well worth the walk up here. A great view of the falls and a photographers paradise. So many wonderful angles. Take a tripod so you can slow down your shutter speed.

Our final hike of a three-hike first day. August isn't peak flow, but it was certainly beautiful. We didn't have any trouble with too many people or not enough parking. Overall, loved it!

Very nice hike to the falls. Too crowded to get the photos I wanted. Try going early or late for a better experience. Best falls I saw in olympic natl park.

On our way back to the ferry, we stopped at the Sol Duc area of the park. We were here when I was a kid and I wanted to see it again. After short stops at the Salmon Cascades and the Ancient Grove (both short walks and beautiful) we went to the end of the road to walk to the... More

Parking is tight, so coming on a weekday is better than weekends. The shelter near the falls was built by the CCC in the 1930s.

We knew it would be pretty cool but it's another site within Olympic NP that words and pictures cannot describe. Go see it.

The powerful falls are actually the second on a very nice trail. Definitely worth the hike. The youngest on our hike was five and he had no problems. One of the highlights was standing in the mist spray.
