Another pretty hike in the woods. A little farther drive from highway 101, but if you have the time it's worth the stop. We stopped here enroute from Lake Crescent to our cabin near Cape Flattery.

Sol Duc falls are not the highest, nor tallest nor amazing, but it is a nice little hike in the beautiful nature and a well spent half day at Sol Duc, do not expect a lot but also one is not disappointed.

One of our favorite places in ONP. If you're lucky enough to get a reservation for a night in one of the wilderness camp spots along the waterfall - you'll know what I'm talking about. I love love love the sound of the waterfall!

I have backpacked in this area for over 40 years and every time I go past the falls, I enjoy the respite and cool moist air around the 3 tiered falls. A short hike through magnificent old growth forest leads to this natural wonder.

Got to the parking lot and there was ample parking with pit toilets available. Lots of backpackers us this as a starting/gathering/grouping point, so there we a lot of them in the parking area. The path into the falls is more of a pleasant walk. There are a couple of inclines and descents, but not bad at all. The forest... More

cost per car is 20 bucks. the hike to the waterfall is less than 2miles round trip. its an easy hike and then you can walk along the rocks and stream above the waterfall. We then went to the hot springs pool (cost 13 adult) it was interesting looks like a recreational pool which is heated naturally by the hot... More

This area has numerous hiking trails through the lush Olympic Forest. The ferns are enormous, everything is emerald green, and moist. You can see nurser logs (downed trees that are hosts to seedlings growing on top of them). Some of the trees that have toppled over are 200' in length.

The trail to Sol Duc Falls is magical. I would not call it a hike, rather a walk. If you hit the falls at the right time and the sun is shining, you can get some amazing pictures with rainbows.

This was an easy hike through my favorite landscape. Mossy rocks and tall timbers reminded me of Endor. The trail wasn't too crowded in the morning and the falls at the end were beautiful.

Probably the signature waterfall in ONP. The hike is relatively short through old-growth forest. Neat smaller falls serve as a prelude to the tri-falls at the end of the trail. If you take a only handful of walks during your visit to Olympic, this should be on your list.
