This was another stop of our "Twilight Tour" and another great hike for the weekend hiker. The hike was similar to Marymere Falls, relatively flat with a few rolling hills. Again since it isn't a tough hike there is lots of opportunity to take pictures which is a definite must based on the beauty of the forest, falls, and the... More

You reach the Sol Duc Falls after an easy 0.8 mile hike on a gentle, well maintained trail that winds through an emerald temperate rainforest. The falls itself is about a 20-foot drop, which is not particularly spectacular compared to falls in other national parks, such as Yosemite. However, the setting is very tranquil, peaceful and provides a solitude justifying... More

We lucked out during our April visit to Sol Duc Falls--it was the one day in 9 that was sunny. And on the Sol Duc Falls trail sunny = lots and lots of photo ops. This is the kind of trail where one can learn to use a neutral density and circular polarizer filters and come away with stunning shots.... More

Magical beautiful hike that is totally flat and easy and pretty the whole way to a lovely waterfall area. Short but very wonderful falls area with wooden bridge. Perfect hike to do with young children.

Perfect early spring walk - no one is there on weekdays in late March / early April. Sun streaking through the trees is BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful hike with only a 200' climb all together, and the view of the falls makes it worth every step through the well manicured trails of this densly forested area.

Yes I did, the beauty of these falls made me cry! I was so amazed that God created this for us. I will go back again and again.

When visiting Olympic National Park we visited the beautiful Sol Duc Fall. We stayed near Forks while visiting and drove north from there and turned into the Sol Duc road which takes you to the parking lot from where you can follow a trail into the forest to the falls. The trail is about 1 mile (1.5km) through a dense... More

For Olympic NP attractions, I rank Sol Duc Falls right behind Hurricane Ridge and Ruby Beach. It really is a must see, and I find it baffling that it is currently (as of 12/2012) ranked so low at 9 of 31 attractions in Olympic NP. It is a large, beautiful waterfall that photographers will especially like. I took a number... More
