The Sol Duc falls are often photographed because of the twin cascade into a narrow gap in a green forest with a rustic bridge. The trail is about a mile long and winds through mature forest with large trees and lush undergrowth. We saw a black bear wandering through the woods near the beginning of the trail, but it quickly... More

We wanted a slightly longer hike the day we visited Sol Duc Falls, so we actually did the Lover's Lane Loop, which begins and ends at the Sol Duc Resort (approx. 5 miles round trip), with the Falls in the middle. The portion of the hike that is not the out-and-back path to the Falls was incredibly secluded. We did... More

This hike was on a well traveled path to a very nice falls. They seemed like a very forceful falls that would be even more spectacular in the spring. Very worthwhile.

Short, relatively easy hike to the falls from where we parked, about 0.8 miles. Nice scenery on the walk to it, including little trees growing on top of tree stumps. The falls themselves are interesting, with large fallen trees intertwined with the water chutes in curious ways.

The trail is fairly easy. At the end is a bridge overlooking the falls. there are two falls right next to each other. One can also get to the top of the falls.

Not a bad walk. Some nice forest and the falls were OK. I think during a wetter time, the falls would seem more impressive. If you're nearby, go for it. I drove fairly far out of my way to see the falls and don't really feel it was worth it.

The hike to the falls is pretty easy and it's always fun to visit a falls. We visited in summer August weather and I'm sure the water had seriously declined. But there was still a sufficient falls to make the hike worthwhile. Watch out for runners going up and down the trails and kids on trail bikes. Would I do... More

Very easy hike, 1.8 miles. Even my sister who had had back surgery could do it. Beautiful falls, big trees, and some gnarly forest.

A little bit of a hike in, not too challenging, and it is such a thrill to hear that water and know you are approaching this lovely site. I could sit and watch those falls all day.

This was a nice area. I was a little disappointed with the lodge and the with the little cabins on how they were set up. We didn't get to see the falls, but the area was nice. We really preferred the other parts of the Rain Forest to this area.
