Of the two visitor's centers in the Port Angeles area, this one is the one to go to. The first is nice and a good place to get maps for hiking and such, but the views, food, and souvenirs are higher up. Be careful on the drive! Deer are often near or even on the road, and several hang out... More

If you need a place to cool off, this is it. The day in July we visited saw temperatures in the upper 40s at Hurricane Ridge. This park is predominantly a hiking/backpacking park. We only completed a few of the shorter hikes, but they were loaded with beautiful (albeit often cloud-covered) scenery and close encounters with wildlife. I lost count... More

We took a walk with our 4 year old and grandma. It was an easy walk for us all. Beautiful view from the mountains against the views of the ocean. Great visit.

The views are stunning. Within a 10 minute walk from the visitor center we saw deer that were not afraid of humans and posed nicely for pictures! Chipmunks were abundant too and lots of birds. Will come back to do more expansive hiking!

The visitors center at Hurricane Ridge is a great place to start your visit to the area. It is a great facility that offers information, great views, an opportunity for shopping, a chance to use their facilities and get food. If you have friends or family with mobility issues this offers them a great place to spend time and wait... More

Good information available. When we visited, it was so smokey from the Canada fires, the only thing to see was the Visitor Center

At the platform, you get great views of the range and Mt. Olympus. Stop in and ask the ranger about any current changes to the hikes and terrain, and use the modern restrooms.
