Wonderful lake views

A wonderful choice for a nice day trip if in the area. Crescent Lake has spectacular views! Stop at Crescent Lake Lodge for a bite to eat.

We loved driving the loop road and seeing all that there was to see in this great National Park. We have done this more than once and love it each and every time that we make the trip. If you are close to Olympic National Park you owe it to yourself to make the effort to see all that it... More

I planned 6 days to see all the attractions, but you could easily spend 2 weeks or even a month if you are hiking. I tackled the drive in 2 sections, making Sequim my base point for the Northern half, and Olympia for the South half. We visited Hurricane Ridge, Madison Falls, the Observation Point at the old Glines Canyon... More

We decide to add a birding trip on to a business trip to Seattle. We decided to wing it using the Audubon's guides for finding birding locations. This turned out well, allowing us to explore places we normally would not have stopped for on a driving trip. The peninsula has so much to offer from sea and forest life to... More

We did the drive in 1 day which was a mistake as we did not have time to hike or see all of the spots we would have liked to visit. Driving from Olympia, you first travel along the Hood Canal which is very beautiful and very serene and there are lots of spots to pull off the road and... More

The loop takes you around the Olympic Peninsula, BUT to visit most of the major attractions, you do have to exit the highway and drive a couple more miles to the beaches, lakes, and the mountains. The only exception would be Lake Crescent, to which the highway winds at its south side, but has a few spots where you can... More

We did this drive in about 2.5 days. I wish we had more time, at least another day or so. Its not always scenic, but worth the effort to drive off the beaten path and check out places like Hurricane Ridge, the Hoh Rain Forrest and Ruby Beach. Make time for Crescent Lake if you can, I wish we did!

We drove from Portland to Kalaloch lodge under a full moon and it was a very scenic ride surrounded by pine trees. We drove up the peninsula and stopped at many of the park sights and hikes along the way. There were times that we felt as though there weren't very many people out in the park until we'd see... Overall, this park requires a lot of driving for very little 'experiencing'. The loop road around Olympic NP has good pavement, is plenty wide enough for big RVs and is not winding. However, we found that there are miles and miles of not-so-scenic driving. Granted, it's not like driving in an urban area as there are young trees and the... More
