My five and eight year old enjoyed the trip immensely. We spent five days there and hiked in the forest, climbed mountains, and explored the tide pools/beach. You do need to have the tide tables on hand to see the tide pools. The rangers were wonderful guides. We rented a cottage in Port Angeles. more

Changing climates and terrain make this drive one of the best you'll ever make.
