If you are for soft Car camping this is the spot. Has a store with high price goodies and I think showers. Other car oriented Campsites are a little more rugged and no nearby services. Nice lake and views.

Nice and peaceful place to have a picnic. The campers' store is well-stocked if you forgot your picnic. Don't miss the Loomis Museum nearby.

This trail is 1.5 miles and is an easy, flat trail around a lake. Wonderful views of Lassen Peak. We saw lots of birds, in the trees and on the lake. Just a beautiful, relaxing hike.

We so enjoyed our drive through Lassen. Emerald Lake, Helen Lake, Kings Creek, and then Manzanita Lake. We stopped there for a picnic lunch and walked around the lake. The views of Mt. Lassen are wonderful and we saw wild trout in the lake!

Have you seen pictures of autumn lakes, with calm surfaces, white fluffy clouds reflecting on it surface? This is the place. Clear water, kayaking, canooing, hiking trails.

We drove HOURS to get to the Northwest park of this park and were disappointed. From other reviews, its sounds like this place was fun and active, apparently just not the day we visited. There was a 50/50 chance of rain, so were weren't allowed to rent a kayak to explore the lake. This was understandable but a big disappointment.... More

This is the closest lake/campground/facility to the north entrance of the park and it is subsequently very busy on a weekend. Many people boating/fishing/swimming in the lake (though it's plenty big to share) and a crowded campground make it a little less mountain getaway and a little more being in the dirt with strangers. For a more intimate but still... More

the lake is located behind the Loomis museum and goes around towards the Manzanita lake cabins. Very nice peaceful place to sit and relax and unwind after hours of driving to reach here. We saw kayakers renting boats and venturing out into the waters. Go early as they get rented fast in the morning. We saw mallards and other small... More

Just feet past the entrance kiosk lies the very scenic Manzanita Lake. You'll be so excited that you might drive right past the best photo you can bring home from the park! So present your pass and find a parking spot along the lake as soon as possible. Then circle around the lake trail to your right counterclockwise and in... More

Overall I liked this campground. It was definitely a positive experience and I have no regrets, however, there are a few factors that will probably prevent me from going back for a second visit. Those detractors are mainly the size of the campground (which inevitably make it very loud) and the fact that I feel as though I saw everything... More
