Very helpful and friendly staff here. They have a nice little museum area with many helpful displays describing both the cultural and natural history of the area. A good way to start your visit to Joshua Tree NP. We particularly appreciated: shaded picnic benches, water refill station, and easy access to the path to the Mara Oasis.

This is a large visitor center with a large exhibit area showing the plants, animals and geology of the park. They have a large selection of books and many rangers to help answer your questions.

The oasis visitor center was our first stop into Joshua Tree National Park. It was a little underwhelming and did not have much of the experience that most national park visitor centers offer. It may be that there are three entrances to the park, each with a visitor center. Here there is no introductory movie which we always enjoy.

I believe this was the same place in the park.. Park your car or throw down your ki k stand for a nice Gulley view.. A break from the flat and or slight elevation views .. GREAT..unexpected bonus view with I believe a restroom.. Jason

This visitor center is located outside the park by a mile or two. It has clean bathrooms with running water a small store and older exhibits about the park geology, animals and history. Nice way to start or end your visit.

For some reason Joshua Tree Visitor Center is not on here. It is located just outside the west entrance, which I recommend starting at. Oasis is a typical visitor center. I gave it five stars because of it's small exhibit and short walk to an actual oasis which makes it the best one of the three in Joshua Tree National... More

We finished our visit to Joshua Tree. Originally, after seeing residential areas, we thought we missed this second visitors center. It is tiny in comparison to Cottonwood visitors center which was the first one we visited. They have plants near entrance where you can take photos. It is under renovation. The staff can give information on camping there. Bathroom facilities... More

There is only a gift shop with a ranger right now. No open exhibits at the moment. The Oasis of Mara brief walk is OK, not worth driving out of your way though.

This isn't an attraction. It's a place to make camping reservations, pay your park entrance fees and buy t shirts and post cards. End of story. Should be removed as an attraction.

If you have never been to Joshua Tree before, make the stop at Oasis Visitor Center. We were glad we took the advice of Palm Desert visitor's center and started at the north end of the park. We found the staff at the Oasis very helpful. They clearly love the park and are able to provide good advice. You can... More
