If you're at J.T.N.P., it is one of the must see things to do there. It would be a 5 if there wasn't as much haze. Many things cause it, man made and natural, so you just have to be lucky to have the clear view. Still worth the easy drive on any day.

Easy drive up, plenty of parking. There are several places to get a great look at the view. It's amazing how far you can actually see!!!

You can drive “uphill” to reach this point with a spectacular view of the Coachella Valley, from Palm Springs/airport area(on your right) all the way to Salton Sea(on your left). Sure you may see it hazy, but you know what you are looking at. (The board on the top would show you what you are looking at the Keyes Point).... More

We visited the Joshua Tree National Park almost by chance so were not equipped for hiking or anything. We went to the visitors' centre at the entrance and were told not to miss this. We took the car and drove through the park, which in itself is astonishing. Followed the signs off the main route to Keyes View. WOW! So... More

It was neat to stand there and see all the way to Mount San Jacinto where i had just hiked the previous day. It was hazy, but it is what it is....hazy every day, and there is an educational board explaining why. And there also is an educational board explaining the San Andreas Fault line. I was very intrigued by... More

Keyes view is 5 miles off the main route up to the viewing point. They say on a clear day you can see Mexico, we didn't due to the haze and the high winds but we did see the Salton Sea. However, the best bit is that you can clearly see the San Andreas Fault Line. The route also takes... More

From Keys Point you are standing at over 5,000 feet above sea level and on a clear day the view of the Coachella Valley is truly spectacuolar. Bring along your binoculars. You can see the Salton Sea to the east and the tower at the Morongo Casino and beyond to the west.

Very hazy these days with the smog in the valley. There is little chance of a clear snapshot. however, the view is pretty and you can clearly see the fault line between you and the distant mountains. Beware the "aggressive bees." While we were there they had posted these signs at the bottom of the walk up to inspiration point.... More

This was a bit of a drive off the loop road in the park but worth it for the view of the valley, the mountain range and the San Andres fault. It's windy. Bring a sweater and binoculars. Worth a stop and it's a pretty drive through a grove of Joshua trees.

The view is worth the drive a short hike. On a clear day you can get a great view of Idyllwild and Palm Springs. Even on a bad day the view of the San Andres fault is amazing. I've been twice and it doesn't get old! The only cost is the National Park entrance fee - it's worth every penny.
