We took the bike tour up to the top of Haleakala which was fine being cold at all. Then we went down to the 6500 foot level to start biking down the volcano. We were told we needed to be back to the bike shop by 230 or 3 o'clock. But we didn't start biking down the volcano until about... More

From the minute we arrived and throughout the day we had a great time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very informative ride up to and around the crater. Ride down was outstanding. Unless the weather is cold, don't worry about too many extra clothes. The pants and jacket they give you are perfect cover at the summit and for... More

To be honest, I was quite nervous about doing this ride after reading the reviews and overhearing a conversation about another tour but we decided to go ahead. The guides were great on the drive up, lots of interesting information and details about the route back. I noticed on the way up that there was a fairly good shoulder on... More

A Must! Yes, you will need to wake up at 2am to get the whole trip and tour started, but I will tell you that the experience is definitely worth it. The views, the vibe, the scenery, and the calm beautiful stretching views of Maui and it's waters are gorgeous! Out tour guide was great. Very thorough in his directions... More

my wife and I took the Sunrise tour and bike ride on Tuesday May 12. We were very pleased with the initial part of the day. Visiting the summit of the mountain for sunrise while listening to the tour driver describe various aspects of the mountain and park. Things took a negative for us when my wife took a spill... More

Hand down the best bike excursion. We started the highest and passed all the other bike excursions. Guide was very knowledgeable.

We visited Hawaii for our honeymoon, so we planned lots of fun activities. The Haleakala Bike Tour was by far the best experience of all of them! The guide (I’m sorry I can’t remember his name!) was absolutely hysterical from the moment we walked into the bike shop. He made it much easier to wake up at such an early... More

If you're in Maui you should definitely do the sunrise Haleakala trek. Unfortunately, this tour just isn't worth the extra cash. Positives: > we got to see the sunrise! Negatives: > the tour operator is bipolar > the ride up the mountain is easy and doesn't require a tour > you have to leave 5 minutes (not over exaggerating) after... More

Thank You for your review. As I mentioned in another response, this is not a bike ride intended for exercise. We want our participants to enjoy the beauty of Maui and Haleakala, without a strenuous ride. This is a leisure ride that you get to come down at your own pace while enjoying the peacefulness of this sacred Haleakala mountain.... More

We went in early May, 2015. The sunrise over the clouds at the top of Haleakala was truly worth it. I was incredibly cold but it didn't matter. Definitely worth doing (super easy to do on your own by car). The bike ride is completely worth skipping. There is no actual exercise that you get from it, the views as... More

Thank you for your review. Correct, this ride is not challenging. But it is never intended to be. If you are looking for a workout or to get some exercise, then this ride may not be for you. What this ride does give you is a fabulous scenic ride. It's best enjoyed by taking your time and taking in all... More
