I'm sure the sunrise is spectacular... Unfortunately cloud cover rolled in and didn't get to see the sun come up... The bike ride down is really exciting. Make sure you know how to ride a bike. The bikes with this company have hydraulic brakes which was a plus. The scariest part of the ride was watching guides from "guided bike... More

Other than the ridiculously early pick up time for my tour, these guys know what they're doing and it was well worth the early rise to go to the top of Haleakala for sunrise. We then biked (ie: coasted and braked) our way down to Paia for lunch. Great experience and you're back at your hotel by about 1:30 in... More

The sunrise Haleakala self-guided bike tour exceeded all expectations. Everything was perfect, from our fantastic guide in the bus on the way up to the 40km self-paced ride back down the mountain. And words can't describe the beauty and majesty of experiencing the start of a new day high above the clouds at the crater to the sounds of a... More

We did the Sunrise self guided bike tour and can't speak highly enough about it. It requires a 3 AM arrival at the bike shop (they will pick you up at your hotel if you like for a little extra) but it's absolutely worth it. From the shop they bus you 1.5 hours up to the very rim of Haleakala's... More

I struggled with deciding between three and four stars here. The first time we took this trip, we did the Sunrise Tour. Seeing the sun rise over the crater was really magical, and the ride back down the mountain was a lot of fun, except for the flat tire I got about 90% of the way down, and having to... More

First--some words of wisdom. If you are doing the sunrise tour, make sure to do it on your first day in Hawaii before you have had time to adjust your internal clock. This makes getting up at 1:30 AM or before not as painful. We opted to drive ourselves to Haiku instead of a hotel pickup. From Kihei at that... More

This was an incredible way to see Mt Haleakala and definitely worth the early morning wakeup. (plan a lazy afternoon after the ride, the wakeup will wreck you for that day!) If you have a car I would recommend driving to the bike shop rather than getting picked up. Saves about an hour of sleep! Our guide was hilarious and... More

This was definitely a highlight for me and my wife! The guides were great, the views were incredible and bikes and scenery while riding were as well! This tour really feels like an adventure and you have to actually use your brain to get back, though it's not that hard! SO... If you are horrible with directions and really scared... More

The tour started at 3am, but it was well worth it to see the most spectacular sunrise above the clouds! Be sure to dress warm as it is windy at the top. Biking down was awesome, great gear and easy instructions on navigating down the crater.

I was really looking forward to this experience and unfortunatelly it was big disappointment, above all because of the employee of the company who accompanied us to the top of hill to see sunrise. Such unfriendly, no-proffesional and rude attitude absolutely destroy any good feeling I could have in such beautifull surrounding in Haleakala. I think the worst part was... More
