Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, though a bit talkative. I learned a lot about Maui just on the bus ride up. The equipment is top notch and gear is provided. Make sure to DRESS WARM. It was windy and freezing at the summit. Coldest I've ever been. The views are amazing though. You do need to know how to ride... More

Tuesday October 14, 2014 will be a day we will never forget, it was the day my wife and I rode Haleakala with the Haleakala Bike Co. Every aspect of this adventure was great, from the directions to the bike shop, instruction and quality gear provided and one very cool tour guide "Kimo". There were 19 of us that climbed... More

Oct 12, 2014. Great early morning outing. Others have written about all of the good things. This is about a couple of negatives. Firstly, if you can't ride a bike, don't sign up for a 26 mile bike ride. It's not that difficult but you do need to be able to control your bike. Secondly, be prepared to fight for... More

Do you want to come down the mountain in a pack of riders? If you said "no!" then this is the for you. Go at your own pace with your group on an excellent mountain bike with disk brakes. Have breakfast on the way down (or not). Stop when you feel like it. Relax and enjoy the view.

Well organized company; most of all the gear and bike were good...disc brakes ( very important)! The staff/guide all have a real good sense of humor or just lot more cherry than the rest of us at 3 am in the morning! Good fun, incredibly sunrise; takes your breathe away. Its cold up there, so take their gear and wear... More

Top notch company. Well organized, superb equipment, excellent management and well priced. When we went, Haleakala was socked in with fog and we couldn't see a thing. The ride down made it all worthwhile. Will do again and hopefully next time, weather will cooperate and we can see the beautiful view. The owner actually helped us out with another matter... More

Yes, you have to get up at 1 in the morning to do this. But it is so definitely worth it. You'll have a long drive up Haleakala, where you'll watch the incredible sunrise. As it rose, a park worker sang a beautiful song in Hawaiian to welcome the day. They'll take you on a few additional stops on the... More

Very much worth getting up at 1 am to catch the sunrise at what seems to be the top of the world. It is rather cold at the top so bundle up in layers. We simply went with jeans, long sleeve shirts, and sweatshirts and we were comfortable. Bring some water in a backpack and take it easy on the... More

Booked this before we left the mainland and truly enjoyed it. Well organized and informative. As others mention, it is cold waiting for the sunrise so be sure to have layers on! At first I thought their helmets were a bit much but after I did a "Hawaiian Air" move over the handlebars, I was very thankful!! My helmet completely... More

Pro: watching the sunrise from above the clouds Con: getting up at 1am You can choose to drive to the bike shop or their shuttle will pick you up from your resort. I recommend driving so that you can go at your own pace. Once you arrive at the shop they give you a backpack, gloves, a raincoat, and a... More
