As recommended by other reviewers, we planned our bike tour for our first morning on Maui. I will be honest, I was concerned about the 23 mile ride. My husband is 65 and I am 58. He had seen a show on tv featuring the ride and wanted to do it so I said "Sure"! We left our hotel at... More

If you like riding bikes, this is a fun trip. You see Haleakala at sunrise, which is nice, and then you essentially coast 23 miles down the volcano to town. You have to use your brakes a lot but it is really fun. Getting up in the middle of the night to catch the bus is a pain, but "no... More

Amazing!! I took the bike rental for 39$, and it included a car rack, a helmet , backpack with repair kit. Now this is the deal! In my opinion this IS the way to ride from the summit! I took my wife and a kid (they don't ride) all the way to the summit, for the sunrise (was stunning) then... More

My partner, daughter and I loved this tour even though we had to get up a 2:00 AM to make it to Haiku for 3:00. Big group of 25 or so for the trip. It took about an hour for everyone to get fitted with helmets and all weather gear. We left for the mountain at 4:00. The driver gave... More

Your number one priority is making sure your equipment is top notch. I can't emphasize this enough. You'll be riding down a 10,000 foot mountain on a bike with traffic both ways on skinny roads. Hydraulic disk brakes make a huge difference. (We had an awesome time BTW;-) We did the Deluxe, 9am (Not 3am) deal. Did we miss anything?... More

My husband and I had a great time with the Haleakala bike tour, even with the crazy early start time. We loved the entertaining nature of our tour guide Tim. Bikes felt safe, only a little squeaky with the brakes. Loved the "self-guided" aspect so we could stop at sites we found interesting. Great recommendation by Tim to stop for... More

The website totally misrepresents what the "Deluxe Tour" is. Most of the two hour tour is just driving to the park. Only about 20 minutes of the total two hour tours is spent in the park and most of that time is devoted only to taking pictures. You can only coast down the mountain because the bikes have only nine... More

The tour was perfect. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. After a great sunrise experience, we were dropped off just outside the park for a great ride down. The tour is self-guided so there was no pressure to keep up with the group. We were able to stop for a breakfast on our way down and enjoyed every minute of... More

This was our 4th ride with Haleakala Bike compny. They are very professional & informative. The drivers taking you up the hill to the drop off point make sure you know the route downhill by pointing out the places you need to slow down, the places you turn and points of interest. You can ride down as slow or fast... More
