Able to see old-time cabins and churches...missed the wildlife as it was raining. Trip can be slow going, but great scenery!

We have been to the Smoky Mountains 3 times and all 3 we have been to Cades Cove. It is a beautiful area. We have seen bears there although from a distance. It is just a lovely untouched area. Allow time to stop and pull off to take in the beauty. Please keep your distance from the bears. This year... More

I convinced my wife and 3 kids (ages 11, 5, and 2) to get up EARLY to drive from Sevierville to Cades Cove in hopes of seeing wildlife in the early morning hours. We left around 6:30 am and arrived about an hour later (not as long as map apps told us it would). We saw some deer fairly close... More

A picturesque drive with plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly if there early or late in the day. Lots of primitive buildings to explore, and don't miss drives down Sparks Lane and Hyatt Lane. Tip: use the restroom at the picnic area before getting on the loop road. Traffic invariably slows on this road, particularly if wildlife is spotted, and... More

The best way to enjoy the scenery is by bike. you can rent it at the bike shop. The loop is closed to cars on wednesdays and saturdays from 7 to 10am. Arrive at 7am to make sure you do not run out of bikes. We got there at 7:45 and had to rent one with an electric assist. The... More

It is also free. Go early morning for all the hiking trails u can take and for great picnics for lunch. U will love this place nestled... More

Go early morning and you will likely see deer, wild turkeys, and bear cubs. Interesting history. Stop at the general store at the campground before or after for a sandwich or ice cream. We stopped at the little general store there and got a few things so we could picnic by pulling off the road at one of the many... More

This area was set aside by the park and the residents grandfather in as long as they or there descendants lived there I would not go to the area without visiting this spot

this is a great place to visit, it is free and very entertaining, loved the old log cabins and the history of the place and seeing the animals was wonderful. I do advise you to drive slow going through the loop, because you never know who or what is in the road. I really enjoyed the view and the many... More

I love seeing the old structures of Cades Cove. So glad I went. Tips: Get the Cades Cove booklet and read info on each of the places you'll visit. Better yet, inform yourself the days before. It'll be much more enjoyable. Take snacks and drinks. Even if you eat beforehand, you will get hungry after a while. We would've stayed... More
