Well worth the time to take a beautiful scenic drive and visit the different cabins and sites in the Cove. Very relaxing and some awesome sites.

...but be prepared to go slow and have lots of traffic. Still, this is a must if you're going to visit the Smokies.

Very tranquil and full of history, Wildlife everywhere. Make sure to take drinks and snacks with you and make sure to get out of the car to see things along the pathway. This trip made several that I have been and will be going back. There is always something new and different each time I go. LOVE IT!!

We went during the day to drive the loop on a Sunday, not a lot of traffic. Ended up back there at dusk/dark (not the loop, just the road that takes you to the auto loop) and saw a bear quickly crossing the road. Pack snacks and drinks (or picnic lunch/dinner). No food for sale, no restrooms. Tons of photo... More

I had been so excited to go to Cades Cove before I left home because so many people had told me to go there, BUT when I got there, I was so disappointed. I did not see the first animal of any kind. I did enjoy going to the old home places, the old churches and things but as far... More

We went up, down, sharp curving right and left looking and seeing some wildlife. Unfortunately we didn't see any bears but we did deer. I'll have pictures later. If you go make sure to time by dinner time animal time or you'll miss them! Don't let it catch you when it starts getting dark because we did and it was... More

Cades Cove Loop Road is a loop drive that will take you one hour without any traffic. If at all possible...go during the week. Weekends I've heard can take you up to three hours to get thru because of cars stopping to view the wildlife. We went twice during our time in Tennessee. Once in the evening and we actually... More

I would go again, but would be there first thing in the morning to beat the crowd. Unfortunately, we went there around 6:00 pm and the drive was boring for sometimes when others stop for a picture. It is a 25 mph road, but most of the time you can't go over 10 mph. I spent three days in the... More

What an absolutely beautiful drive..... We went back several times, for the drive and to hike to Abrams Falls. On one of our drives we did see a bear up in a tree on the side of the road. Eating leaves and paying us tourists no mind. Another drive saw another bear up a tree in a meadow.... The hike... More
