There are few places that you can see this type of view without having to mountain climb/fly. The view is spectacular. A must when you visit the Smokies. The walk up can be be hard based on the grade. But well worth it. Take breaks as needed. No rush. Again well worth it.

A great place for sight seeing. Beautiful drive. Well worth the trip. A must see. Not for the short winded. Requires some physical exertion to get to the top.

The drive up is beautiful. You have to walk up a steep paved path the last 1/2 mile. This is not a hike for someone that has difficulty walking. There are rest spots along the path. The view from the concrete tower at the top is awesome, especially on a cool clear day. It is over 6000 ft high, so... More

Our gang of folks got there with 10 min to spare and got to see the sun drop behind the smokies, and the sky lit up! This was done after climbing to Chimney Tops, which was also beautiful. Go to Gatlinburg, climb a mountain, watch the sunset, drink free moonshine, buy a knife or five, buy taffy, and top it... More

Loved the views, but it was very windy and cold. Lady in store was very nice. They didn't have any AA batteries, but she let my daughter have one that she found laying around and it saved the day! It gave her camera enough juice to take photos. Thanks so much!

I was fortunate enough to visit on a day a Park Ranger commented, " There are only 2 or 3 days a year that it is this beautiful here." He was more than right, as the views from the observation tower were majestic.

This is well worth seeing. The drive is alittle long and the walk but it will be worth it. I recommend this to everyone

Holy cow the climb is pretty darn tough but there are rest spots and the trail is paved and well kept. The view along the way is magnificent but nothing compared to the 360 view at the top. You will feel quite accomplished when you look out over the splendor. I would steer clear if you have strollers, wheelchairs or... More
