A vital part of the early pioneer life in the Tetons was both the Snake River Ferry and the general store. Both would have been a focal point of any community prior to roads and bridges. We visited while in Grand Teton to get a feel for the human side of this magnificent natural wonder. The store is run by... More

We visited the homestead that belonged to William D Menor on the Snake River. It was fascinating to look through the cabin, transport shed and finally the store and cabin. Located on the side of the river, it gives you an insight to how Marx life must have been, then just across the car park is the chapel, take the... More

There is a small town named Moose in the Grand Teton National Park and there are two places of great interest. This one is Menor's Ferry Historical Trail - turn off the Teton Park Road one-half mile north of Moose. William D. Menor came to this area in 1894 taking up homestead beside the Snake River. He constructed a ferry... More

If you are tired from hiking, this is a nice diversion - ferry was not running when we were there in early June, but it must be fascinating to see. General store has some original contents and local products on sale.

A very nice self-guided trail that gives you a feel for the life of the homesteaders in the area. A visit to the small chapel is a must.

We visited Menor's several times, the ferry doesn't run very long and it's really just luck if you can catch it...but even without riding the ferry it's a neat spot with a lot to do...there is the old chapel there, the ferry, the general store, and then across the river there are stores and restaurants. We got some great sunset... More

just a short trail to where the ferry used to be, not much considering all the spectacular hikes in the park

After a short walk from the parking lot we toured the General Store and grounds. Interesting and, at least for me, always amazing the small amount of space that people lived in years ago. We were lucky that the ferry was docking on our side of the river and so got to take the ride across. The Park Ranger was... More

Good information along the trail and with the buildings. Amazing that people settled there from the east and stayed.

This was an interesting stop but the ferry was not running. Information we were able to access gave ferry hours as 10 to 2 and we timed our stop around this but the ferry was not running until 1 that day which was disappointing. We were there about noon on another day and was not running then either.
