We spent 2 nights tent camping at colter bay last week. What a beautiful place. Very serene and quiet. Nice tent spots. Great bathrooms. Loved it.

Tent camped 2 nights at Colter Bay Campground with our kids (9 and 7). The bathrooms were pretty good. The shower facilities were moderately mildewed - and if cleaner I would have given 5 instead of 4. We had a close encounter with a mule deer who was probably the rightful inhabitant of our site. We took a nice walk... More

Colter Bay employees don't seem to strive to please the customer!! We arrived late in the day and wanted to use their water activities;it was late in the day and only 1 hour before closing yet they still wanted to charge the 2 hour minimum! We walked out. As we left, we saw a different watercraft that had an hourly... More

Nice RV park with good services. It would have been nice to have sites with a lake/mountain view. However it is a very short walk to the lake. There is no fire pita in the RV park but there are right next door on the campground. Would of like ones in the RV park too. Quiet campground all around. Abysmal... More

Plenty of sites for tents, so not a problem when you arrive early afternoon. (unlike campgrounds in Yellowstone). No generators, generally. Though generators allowed in RV area, which is separate from tenting area. Close enough for day trip to Yellowstone. Good location for watersports and biking.....lots of routes and fairly even ground.....recommend for families. Decent flush toilets (no hot water),... More

Everything you need here. Restaurants, laundrette, convenience store, gas station etc. It is worth spending some time at the visitor center too to see some of the wildlife movies or spend time taking to the rangers. If you enjoy running, there are plenty of great trails for an early morning jog before it gets too hot.

Stayed in the rustic cabins, and loved every minute! Well accommodated cabins, an AMAZING general store, picture-perfect mountain views. We stayed for 2 days and should have stayed 2 weeks. Staff was friendly and helpful. A great visit, will do it again soon!

A spot less crowdy than the ones Yellowstone, which is in itself very nice when you comme from Yellostone park in July. You can rent canoe or kayak at Colter Bay, we enjoyed! The view of the mountains on the lake is fantastic. It is not possible to rent that in Yellowstone, although you can do a guided "tour" with... More

We spent one night in the rustic homesteader cabins at Colter Bay Village. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. This is a step above the cabins in Yellowstone but also a step above in price. If possible be sure to go to the talk about the origins of the cabins to learn about the area and cabin design and construction.... More

We stopped to camp here for a couple of days during our two week getaway. I wish we had spent more time here! This campground was great - the sites were a nice size and easy walk to the lake which is beautiful. You can't have fires at your site but they have pits down on the beach which makes... More
