We have stayed here several times and enjoyed the area. It is a nice central place with various facilities as dining, laundry, gift shop, store. It seems more family oriented than other parts of the park. You can make arrangements for boat tours etc that depart in the area. There are easy trails to hike that start here If planning... More

Family of 4 rented small motor boat and toured and fished. Fantastic views, not to busy, easy to manage . Boys caught two trout and we spent beautiful day just amazed at Gods beauty.

Having kayaked many times, we thought it would be a great time to do so on Jackson Lake, under the towering Tetons. The staff is not incredibly knowledgeable, and more concerned with making sure you stay within the boundaries, than letting you know the currents and challenges of the poor kayaks that they have. While the lake is spectacular, and... More

Really enjoyed spending some time here. We stopped on the way to Jackson Hole and ate lunch and bought snacks. The place looks like a post card! So beautiful and it has everything in this location.

My campsite was on the edge and the very first morning I saw an ever-so elusive fox trotting by me only approx20-25 yard away from me. Later that day a deer came creeping through my camp and on my last day there, a partridge came to visit and hopped around. The rangers at the camp ground were very nice and... More

Great stop for groceries and gift shopping. There are also bathrooms and tourist info. This was also a great stop for an ice cream cone. Great place to take a break from touring!

It is amazing to me that one can camp in a place where 100's of other people are and hardly see or hear them. We visited over the the 4th of July and found the campground not full. The lake was beautiful the temperature a perfect 70ish. The hike around the island near the campground is a nice one mile... More

This is the second time in four years that I've been here. My wife and four year old sun stayed in the ten cabins in Colter Bay Village. The area and views are amazing , we saw Bear # 399 and her three Cubs walk right through our camp site two years ago on our last visit. If you are... More

The village was filled with a store, visitor center, and restaurants. The store had reasonable prices and was half grocery and half gift shop. Plenty of merchandise in both.

We drove from West Yellowstone to the Tetons and stopped at Colter Village along the way. This is quite an enterprise from campground, to store, Visitor's Center, boat ramp, gas, groceries, horseback riding, laundry, hiking trails and on and on. A destination fro many folks as the lake is a major draw. We found everyone very friendly, but was there... More
