Took a while to finish the steep ascent up from the boat pier on Jenny Lake, but once we reached the canyon plateau, it was a nice hike on almost level terrain. Great views of the canyon, creek and some snow caps. Saw a moose lounging by the creek. Very nice hike!

We were here towards the end of May when there was still a lot of snow about. The scenery was stunning and we went as far as we could. Further on there was a huge amount of snow but in the summer the loop walk you can do which includes this trail is supposed to be stunning.

The Cascade Canyon trail starts with the first 1.5 miles or so leading to the popular Inspiration Point, a rock look-out that offers panoramic views of Jenny Lake and Jackson Hole. This first part of the hike is by far the toughest, with a steep climb of ~1500 ft in elevation in the first 1.5 miles. The hike to Inspiration... More

We did the loop by taking the boat across, going up Paintbrush, over the Divide to Solitude and then back down Cascade. It took just under 9 hours for the 18.8 miles but was well worth the effort. We felt that Paintbrush had the better views, being wider and more open. There are a couple of lakes at the top,... More

We did this hike during a heat wave and the climb up into the canyon was very tough. It would have been easier if we had taken the boat across Jenny Lake but the parking lot was too full so we parked at String Lake and hiked in the long way. The views were worth it once we made it... More

Get to Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park as early as you can, preferably by 8:00 or 8:30, in order to beat the crowds. You can hike around the entire lake if you choose. That's O.K. but here's what I recommend...Take the excursion boat from the dock in the Jenny Lake marina across the lake and from the opposite... More

Gorgeous hike! Out-and-back, but still an adventure. Follows a creek with Tetons towering overhead. Waterfalls, vistas, exercise. Saw a moose. Recommend the somewhat crowded boat trip.

four of us hiked up to Lake Solitude. the end point was disappointing--as of late June, the lake was still frozen and covered by snow. very little to see. Nevertheless, it was an intriguing hike along the way. gorgeous views. Not too many fellow hikers surprisingly. We ran into about 14 groups during this whole day of hike. It was... More

A good hike with views of Jenny Lake and the Teton range. Make sure you stop by Inspiration Point on your way. There's a good chance you might spot a moose.
