A short 0.3 mile hike brings you to an overlook where you can see the plateau in the distance and the Colorado River at the bottom. Angels Window is also along this trail.

The cape royal trail is the last viewpoint along the wlhalla plateau on the north rim grand canyon. From the lodge travel up the 2 lane cape royal road. When you reach the fork , take a right . There are several fine viewpoints along the 11 mile paved road to its end. There is ample parking and mostly not... More

This was a very easy trail to follow in the dark so we could be out on the point by sunrise. Really glorious views!

This is a short, somewhat paved, beautiful walk that includes an off shoot of Angel's Window. There are bathrooms available. The canyon views here are excellent and you have a view also of the Colorado River. The Angel's Window makes for some interesting photos, providing a frame for the river. You can take the hike off the driving tour. The... More

Spent quite a bit of time viewing/walking on Angel's Window and heading out to Cape Royal. We then had lunch at the picnic area with a beautiful overlook. Clean bathrooms.

Long drive, about 45 minutes on a winding road, but worth every minute. Lots of viewpoints on the way out to it to stop, but the killer views are at the end, at Cape Royal and Angel's Window. Don't miss this!!! Restroom there, also. The trails to views are between 10' from parking lot to 2 miles, depending.

We drove the Cape Royal Road stopping at each trail. On the return drive we were surprised to be in a hail storm. Each stop along the way is beautiful. Angels Window is a must see.

It is a bit of a walk (1/4mi) yet worth it. One can see Angel's Window. The depth of the Canyon is amazing. Nothing like it anywhere else in the world. It is so beautiful.

Sundown, but only a dozen or so people. Trail is level and short. The views here are to the south, west and east. Beautiful vistas east of Painted Desert and the Colorado River.

It is well worth the extra few hours to take the side trip and short trail to see the incredible views offered here. You will be glad you did it.
