This 0.3 mile trail leads to Angel's Window and Cape Royal point. It's paved all the way. Angel's Window is especially nice as you can walk out on top of the "window" and enjoy the view. The trail has signs pointing out different plants and other features. Very enjoyable!

If you are visiting the North Rim this has to be part of your trip. The drive winds through a pine forest, willow trees, large bushes, along the rim with views from the car and also a lot of pull-outs to see views easily. The Cape Royal Trail has two different directions along the rim to go (do both of... More

Great rock formations, paved trail to access two vista points. Ample parking. You feel like you are at the top of the world. A very good place for photography enthusiasts. Look out for a u-bend on the way to the trail where you can see the window in the rocks from below for the first time. It is so majestic,... More

This is a short and easy walk ending in a spectacular view of the canyon. Along the way, is Angel's Window... I didn't have the nerve to walk all the way out on the point, but my son did. The wind was gusting about 60 mph that day.. Sort of scary but cool!!

I you come to the north rim and don't hike this easy, paved trail over angels window then you've missed out. In my opinion this is a must to trail with an incredible near 360 degree view. As you are walking down the trail you can see the Colorado River through the "rock window".

On our recent visit to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon we took the drive to the Cape Royal Trail. What a Beautiful drive. The trail is very casual an is paved. The views are awesome.

Drive from lodge to point takes about 45 minutes. It is one of the windey-est roads I’ve ever driven on. Got there for sunset and there were about 10 people, mostly all camera geeks looking for that one great shot. It was full moon and the canyon with full moon rising was incredible to see. Excellent place to view sunset.... More

This area is closed for the rest of the season due to road damage. A big disappointment. But we were lucky, the entire park is closed now due to the government shutdown.

By the time we got to the North Rim, the last thing we wanted to do was sit in a car any longer. We went to the lodge, grabbed a mocha for the road and headed up to Cape Royal. Thank goodness we did! The best pictures we took were at this trail (including the ones of my husband pretending... More
