This is a great point to watch the sunset. There are buses running till 6:30 PM, but please check when you come here. You can find other tourists too. It gets a bit windy so be prepared for some wind. Great views and a delight for photographers.

1. Hopi Point lies on the south rim of the Grand Canyon between the the free Hermit road bus shuttle stops at Powell Point Memorial and Mohave Point. 2. Hopi Point is the northern most area on the south Rim on the Hermit trail, and as such, has the most unobstructed view of the sunset in the west along the... More

One of the best views throughout the park! We visited at sunset and were completely in awe at the majestic views. The shuttle route is a great way to get there for sunset and back to the Village afterward.

Hopi Point is a must see. The canyon view goes on forever in both directions. Absolutely beautiful! It was the highlight of the Hermit's Road bus route.

We were only staying one night in the Grand Canyon on our way from Sedona to Vegas. Our hope was to see a sunset and sunrise. We viewed both from Hopi Point a short drive from our lodge. Too many clouds for a good sunset but the sunrise was spectacular. Arrived 15 minutes before sunrise. The sun coming up over... More

Get there early to get a spot to watch the sunset. While the sun sets to the left (west) of the point with views of the colorado river, we felt that the real show happened in the sky to the east as the colors were reflected just as the sun touched the horizon. Parking can be limited even in winter.... More

Hopi is the same as Mohave for a sunset except you are closer to it. If you want to focus more on what the sunset is doing in terms of lighting effects on the rocks etc, then this is your ideal point. Particularly if you are an artist focusing on differing colours and shades created by differing times of the... More

This stop is one of many vista points along the 7+ mile drive from the South Rim complex that goes along the south rim over to the Hermit Point, its western terminus. A great drive towards end of the day, to watch the sun set at any of 5 or 6 great pull overs points, including this one

This stop fills up quickly as people crowd in to see the sunset. The ranger recommended we get there an hour before sunset which was probably good advice especially during busier times of the year. The rocks do look very different depending on the sun and you do get a very panoramic view from this location.
