As recommended by the staff at the North Rim Lodge, this is the best drive on the north side. Superb views, less people and some great short walks. Get out of the car at all the pull-outs and take a walk out to the rim - you will not be disappointed.

The cape royal drive will take about 45 min. from the north rim lodge. There are no services along the road so i would bring a cooler and lunch. Along the way there are several wonderful viewpoints to see. Some have restrooms but not all.vista encantada has picnick tables . Be sure to see angles window . On the way... More

This is a great place to see the Colorado River from the North Rim. The drive gives great views of Marble Canyon, Clear Creek Canyon, and offers numerous day hiking options.

Probably the best views of the canyon from here - it is worth the drive if you want impressive pictures!

Cape Royal Drive is full of terrific sights, but the most amazing to us was the view of Angel's Window as you walk down Angel's Window trail at the end of the drive. You can't believe your eyes! it looks like an optical illusion, and you will waste a lot of time taking bad photos to try to capture it.... More

If you doing nothing else on the North Rim, I would strongly recommend taking this scenic drive for its views and overlooks. Simply breathtaking.

This is a must see but please allow 2-3 hours so you won't be rushed. Lots of turnouts and short hikes to some amazing looks of the North Canyon. There are a couple of places you can see the Colorado River. Beautiful

Make from the drive a day trip and bring you picnic along! At the end of the drive, park your car to explore the Grand Canyon along footpath's with suberb and breathtaking views. A must for all visiting the North Rim.

When you visit take your time and drive away from the crowded rim and visit this area. Stop at the overlooks smell the forest and drink in the scenery. It is truly awesome. If you only take one hike do the Cape Final trail. It rewards you with a breath taking overlook at the end

A windy and narrow road at times, so RVs might want to check restrictions. I recommend driving to the end and parking at Cape Royal. There is a lookout right off the parking lot that gives a great view of Angel's Window. A trail leads to two separate lookouts. Do both of them! They each have spectacular views. On the... More
