We spent a whole day walking along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in wonder of this natural formation. For us, this was a once in a lifetime experience, so make sure it's included in your west coast travel plans. The regular bus back to the village was a saviour.
Save time see the south rim, skip the north rim. Also go see Desert View Watchtower, south Grand Canyon Bring water and food. Get some shots other then with all the other tourist --- that means take a hike to the far ends of the paved trails
It almost goes without saying that the Canyon surpasses superlatives. The visitor are surrounding the Canyon are almost perfectly in unison with the spectacular natural area. The forest is stunning too and standing within two feet (literally) of Elk, and a Woodpecker brings nature close.

This is a place you have to see to believe. Pictures can't relate the depth, tones and enormity of the canyon. IMAX can't do it either. One has to see it. We were just breathless with the views and size. A MUST SEE.

Definitely visit the Grand Canyon....there is nothing like it!!!! The size, textures, and colors will blow your mind. Take the time to explore this National Park.
If you're staying on the North Rim and either don't want to hike into the canyon or are looking for another great hike, try the Widforss Trail. The views are fantastic, and the trail itself is well-shaded and interesting.
