My sister and I travelled to LA/Disney/Vegas all the way from New Zealand so thought we just HAD to see the Grand Canyon...we are probably never making the trip out again. We booked a 3 day package to Las Vegas, with a day trip to the Grand Canyon (South Rim) tour included on the 2nd day. It was a very... more

What can i say, this place was mind blowing. It you have not been and are planning to go to Vegas this is a must........ Yes it is expensive but well worth the money in my opinion. We visited in June 09 on the Maveric tours, we flew from a private airfield about a 20min drive from the strip and... more

You will pay a hire rate if you call and once you book you can't cancel without losing 50%. You get quoted one rate and when it's time to run your credit card there are extra fees. If you cancel you will be charged for 50% of the total price. The trip was nice but not for the final price. more

In short, the Grand Canyon is awesome. It is something everyone should see in their lifetime. Unfortunately, our family never got past the south rim because of the inadequate capacity of the shuttle buses. We waited nearly an hour in the blistering heat to catch a "red line" bus. Because of time constraints (Grand Canyon Railway), we had to leave... more

This was our first ever trip to the Grand Canyon. We took "The Train" from Williams, AZ to the south rim. The train ride was just great. The Porter for our coach was Bobby. He was great at history and was able to keep our interest for the whole trip. The Grand Canyon is such an awesome sight. It didn't... more

Our life-long trip to the Grand Canyon was all that we hoped it would be. From every vantage point to every sun angle, you can see it a million different ways. Massive kudos to the Park Service - every, single Ranger, staffer, bus driver, and volunteer were remarkably friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. (The consistency of the quality of personnel rivaled... more

We had a road trip in June 2009 from San Diego to Sedona, AZ. During our week stay, we decided to take a tour of the grand canyon, rather than drive for hours in summer traffic. We picked the Grand Canyon Sunset Tour from Great West Adventure Co. We were picked up at 11am at our resort by the driver,... more

We took a tour bus company to the west rim of the canyon from Las Vegas on June 10. At $120 each it was pretty pricey but we were forewarned of the hidden extra costs, also we had a rental car and couldn’t risk any damage having been warned of the 20mile dirt track road. We were picked up at... more

My advice for traveling to the canyon is to stay either in Flagstaff or Tusayan because the park food is expensive and our accomendations at Maswick Lodge were a little basic such as loe lighting in the room and not at all scenic. Also the plane trip over the canyon is for the hardy stomach crowd. Very bumpy with the... more
