We loved the 8 hour tour through the bay, seeing so many glaciers, whales, and other wildlife. The park ranger who narrated the tour was excellent. There was a light breakfast with hot drinks and a filling lunch provided without extra charge. I recommend highly. It is cold even in July, so bring a coat or layers of jackets.

Great view and great day at the Glacier. We even got to see a little of it break off. Bring a good camera with a long zoom. 50X worked great for us.

We had seen Glacier Bay from a cruise ship, but this boat trip is so much better. The boat is very nice, clean, and the food is great. The best thing is that the boat is able to get closer to the islands and glacier than the cruise ship. You get to see much more wildlife - whales, bears, seals,... More

The boat was over crowded, there were too many children with parents who thought it was okay for the children to run around the decks playing hide and seek. It was a wasted trip for what we saw and the amount of money it cost to get there, take the boat tour and get out. I would not recommend this.

Like the other reviewers we saw sea otters and many different birds up close. At a distance we saw mountain goats, whales, and one brown bear. We saw three glaciers fairly close but only stopped at one for a while. We were told the other one that we would normally also stop at was not accessible that day. That was... More

We have been vacationing in Alaska for 10 days thus far; this boat excursion into Glacier Bay was the highlight. We joined about 100 other passengers on the 150 capacity three level boat for the 8 hour trip. The entire trip was narrated by a National Park Service ranger. We were thrilled to see puffins, sea otters, mountain goats, and... More

We took the boat day trip in early June. Nice boat, calm water, and friendly staff. Seeing the glaciers right in front of us is breath taking. And we saw a lot of wildlife on the way too – bears, mountain goats, puffin, bold eagle (and even an eagle nest), sea lions, sea otters, and all different kinds of birds.... More

We have seen many glaciers both in the US & Europe, but this trip was well worth it. We used the Alaska Toursaver coupon book and this was a 2-for-1 deal. Great value, even if you just buy the book for this trip. From the minute we boarded the crew was awesome. We had a terrific naturalist on board who... More

Misty and and chilly, yet wondrous experience as glaciers calve. Crack and thunder echoes from miles into the river of ice. Just sat there and marvelled at nature's magnificence. A few whales breached -- puffs of condenscing moisture emanating from their spouts. Orca's frollicked as we entered the bay - All in all it was not the best conditions for... More

More by good luck than planning our Holland America cruise was diverted from Kodiak and Homer to Glacier Bay to stay ahead of a storm in September. This was not "Bartlett Cove", it was a cruise through marvellous "Glacier Bay" which has no human population or towns and is only accessible by water. This was my second trip, the first... More
