We caught lots of little trout out of this lake. It was so much fun. We had our own gear & fished from the bank. Don't bother doing the boat tour; didn't seem worth it.

Be sure and take the trail that surrounds Swiftcurrent Lake and connects to Lake Josephine. It's flat, easy and breathtaking. If you want more, it's a short hike up to Lake Josephine and lot longer and steeper to get up to Grinnell Glacier. Watch for the bears the higher up you climb toward the Glacier!

The lake is located to the back of the Many Glacier Hotel. In all of Glacier National Park these views are the best. There are boat tours available. There is a trail around the lake. Be careful because there are bear in the area.

A moose cow and her calf dined along the lake as we crossed in the boat en route to Grinnell Lake. They reappeared later one afternoon and provided a thrill for both youngsters and adults.

To get to this Lake you have to enter the park from the east side, about 8 miles north of the main entrance at St. Mary in Montana. Just pass Swiffcurrent Lake the road ends. The are lots of hiking trails. The Lake and lodge is in a beautiful setting. There is a small waterfall if you want to get... More

The best part about all these hiking trails is that they are very worn and easy to follow. Some parts of it have boardwalks and bridges over streams or rives...The ending of most of these trails lead you to beautiful waterfall or lake. We never saw any bears along the way on any hike,,,We did see deers.

This is a beautiful lake, we enjoyed walking around it and stopping for a beer afterwards at the many Glacier hotel. It's easy to connect to Lake Josephine and Grinnell lake/glacier trails from Swiftcurrent lake. Well worth a visit if you are in the Many Glacier area.

Stunning, simply stunning. Perhaps one of the most perfect landscapes in all the world. Peaceful, beautiful and awe inspiring.

The trail around this lake is easy with little to no elevation gain. There are bridges that cross the rivers and it is picturesque every step of the way. There can be bears and moose, so be aware and give them space. Don't get too close, we saw someone try to do this and nothing happened, but it scared us... More
