The boat captain had great information about the area. We loved the boat ride, saw a moose on our portage and enjoyed the suspension bridge and side trip to Hidden Falls.

It's an easy flat hike starting right at the Many Glacier Hotel. When you get to the sign "Josephine Lake", follow it. It's not far and not hard at all. The boat company says it's strenuous but that' very misleading.

We saw a moose grazing on the Swiftcurrent shoreline on the boat. The boat captains are all such lovely people and are a wealth of information about the area.

There is a boat that will take you across the lake while someone is narrating the history of the area. After that you get out of the boat climb a hill about 1/8 of a mile and then down to another boat that takes you on another lake and back and you hike back to the 1st boat. On the... More

We loved Swiftcurrent Lake. It was very calm, and we were able to rent a double kayak for $18/hr (regular kayaks, and maybe a canoe? were available also). There are boat rides, which we found less exciting (because the lake is somewhat small), but we really loved the Many Glacier area, and Swiftcurrent Lake was a part of this! During... More

We took the 2.6 mile loop trail around Swiftcurrent Lake while waiting for our boat departure. This is a flat hike and is pretty, even when it is raining. The lake and views of Many Glacier lodge are beautiful.

There is a boat trip from Many Glacier Lodge that takes you across Swiftcurrent Lake, where you walk over a small hill and take another boat across Lake Josephine. You will get a return ticket that can be used in several ways, depending on how much you want to do on foot. You can get back on the boat after... More

The lake is beautiful at every moment in a day. Walking alone the lake side and take boat are very relaxy things.

While staying at Many Glacier, this lake is pretty active with a lot of boat rides available, and pretty busy. The backdrop for Many Glacier Hotel is has that clear mirror like quality and you can take some excellent photos highlighting the contrasts between the blue lake and the many glaciers in this whole scenic spot. My best was a... More

There is a great 2.5 mile flat trail around this lake. Plenty of people use it so less likely to meet a grizzly in the middle of the day.
