We got there just as the sun was setting. What a site! There is plenty of parking at the end of a very rough, yet passable road. There were just a few people there at the time but all were just taking in the beauty. It was well worth the trip.

The daunting drive was worth the time. Crystal clear waters reflected the mountains beyond. Serene and peaceful with few visitors at the time. Good hiking trails and ample parking by the lake. Give yourself time to continue north through Paradise Valley toward Kintla Lake, which, unfortunately, was closed in early June when we visited.

This looked like a very remote lake that one could drive to - and after 6 miles/10km or single lane dirt road, imagine my surprise at the fact that 60 people were here at the lake beach and picnic grounds! - But the views were incredible, fly fishing good. I would rent a small boat next time and tow it... More

This was our third trip to Bowman Lake and the first during the height of the tourist season. The road to Bowman was as we remembered...dirt, bumpy and long. But it's worth it for the views and the hiking. This visit was less pleasant because it was extremely crowded. We had a hard time finding a place to park the... More

I'm not the biggest fan of dirt roads - granted, we took a Chevy Malibu out to Bowman and it was raining, so potholes and puddles and rocks made for a pretty miserable drive. The campground is well maintained and the host there was friendly and helpful. Once the rain stopped (a day later!) and the clouds moved away, the... More

We hiked for 3 hours on the trail bordering Bowman Lake. Beautiful lake and awesome trail. A previous rain made the trail muddy in spots, but that did not deter hikers. It does take a while to get to the lake area due to its remoteness. Remoteness was what we were looking for!

After driving through some of the other campgrounds at Glacier, we were happy we made the trek up to Bowman Lake. Yes, the road getting there is somewhat of a challenge, but it is worth the extra miles and rough road. Campsites have much more privacy than the other campgrounds in the park. We were able to get a site... More

Glacier National Park is so beautiful that is hard to say what we liked best but Bowman Lake was really spectacular. It is off the beaten path so it was not at all crowded like the rest of the park. Take it slow on the road, it is not paved but easily accessible by any type of car.

The lake was beautiful. Getting there was a little on the scary side because of the, pretty much, one way road, where someone had to give in so the other could pass. Glad we did it.
