This is a great campground for the dry season (late October-late May), only. I wouldn’t suggest trying to go there during the rainy season. Besides just the rain, the mosquitoes are horrible and look like clouds. Even the marina store is closed during the wet season. If you do try to go there in the wet season, you’ll probably end... more

Spent 2 days at this gorgeous section of the park, camping, canoeing, and birding. There are several ponds in the area to watch birds during the sunrise. We also rented a canoe where we found seclusion and serenity in 9 mile pond. I would only reccoment this canoe trip if you are atleast an above average paddler, there is a... more

Flamingo was a treasure, with a modest motel, cottages, houseboat rentals, and a pleasant restaurant. All good bases for a family vacation seeing the Everglades up close. The fact that THREE YEARS after the hurricane these facilities aren't operational, while the Parks Services rethinks matters, is a scandal. more
