The Visitor Center at DNP has a lot to offer. First off, they have a fantastic group of rangers that are willing to answer or find the answer to any question. Denali is a true treasure. It has been protected and remains a magnificant wilderness. Amazing place to visit. We enjoyed the tour by bus and saw a large variety of native plants and wildlife. Our guide was from Alaska, had wintered over and really made it special. more

We opted for the hop-on/hop-off tour into the park offered by the Denali Visitors Center. I couldn't see doing it any other way! This blended cafeteria, coffee shop, deli, grill adjancent to the Visitor center offers a great Denali dining option. With breakfast available at the coffee counter (bagel egg/bacon style sandwiches), yogurt and fruit at the deli deli counter, and plenty of other food options throughout the day, this site is often overlooked. The actual Park: This is my opinion...we did not want to ride in an old school bus for five hours, but we did want to go to "Denali"...So, we went during the morning, before another planned activity, and walked through the Visitor Centers- Wilderness Access Center and the Murie Science and Learning Center on Park Road it was all free... more

A few tips to enjoy your experience in Denali National Park. It took us awhile to figure out the differences in the busses. The adventure tour busses are narrated tours that give you lunch. You go out and come back on the same bus. The shuttle busses have knowledgable drivers who narrate some and answer questions, but food is on... more
