Simply- THE BEST-Do not miss the opportunity to visit "Husky Homestead". Jeff King and his dogs are NOT to be missed--you will leave with a whole new appreciation for dog sledding.

We almost missed this. It is a free demonstration of how the dogs are used in the Park. Interesting for all. The dogs loved the attention. Take the time to look at all the pictures to learn more about their history.

I am a huge dog lover and so enjoyed learning about the Denali National Park sled dog team and watching the demonstration. The dogs get so excited to be chosen to participate and they run so fast! We arrived a little early and were able to walk around looking at all of the dogs and seeing the new puppy that... More

Our Denali bus took us into the park 92 miles and ended at the Kantishna Lodge. We met a guy named Emmet Peters, Jr. who gave us a short talk about dog sledding, the Iditarod and his father who won one year. This guy was hilarious! Later, we were able to meet the dogs and he gave a short demonstration... More

I loved the sled dog demonstration. The rangers seem to really care about the dogs and were very informative. These dogs obviously love their job. The puppy was very cute as well. We took the shuttle bus out to the sled dog demo area but hiked Roadside Trail back to the visitors center. We were done by lunch with plenty... More

Very well done, to see the dogs get very excited to work was great. Try to make time to see the well done demonstration.

Rated 4 out of 4 Sled Dog Demonstrations witnessed in 7 days. Seavey's at Seward the best followed by the Fairbanks Riverboat Sled dog demo.

We did the Husky Homestead tour of the Iditarod dog training facility in the morning, and the sled dog demo at Denali NP in the afternoon. It was fun to interact with the big huskies at the park and see them run with a sled. It was informative to see the differences between Iditarod race dogs and these dogs, whose... More

This is a genuine demonstration by the nations parks dog led team rather than some commercial profit making venture. The dogs are used during winter for patrols throughout the park and to help keep in shape do these summer time demonstrations. You get a chance to work through the kennels and pat and photo dogs first. The highlight to me... More

Is nothing wrong with the husky demonstration at the visitors center. But if you're pressed for time you could probably skip this. And if you're not a dog lover you can definitely skip this. We were neither pressed for time and we are dog lovers so we enjoyed the demonstration.
