If you enjoy driving a 4-WD jeep down a wooded bumpy and rugged one lane road with dips and mud holes, then you’re in for a treat with this safari! It had rained the day before our tour so those mud holes were deep and filled with water. We had a great time and enjoyed a lot of laughs as... More

I agree with other reviews that this tour is pricey at $140 each, but we had never driven a Jeep off road before and we didn't have a lot of other things to do the day we got to Denali. The next day we had an all day tour, so thought this would be fun. Having the two way communication... More

This excursion was fun. We went on a rainy/muddy day, which made the off-road experience much more fun. Lots of mud and water up over the doors in spots was pretty cool. It is rather expensive, but we purchased the groupon for our trip, so we got a 2 for 1 price deal. Don't know that I would have paid... More

We didn't have this pre-planned but decided to try it. Everyone enjoyed it. The Jeep keeps you fully protected from the mud. Parts are a little boring but the middle part is great. Our guide clearly didn't love what he was doing but he was still a good guide. The CB radio between the cars works great. You are in... More

Compared to the back country 4x4 I've done back home this is not any thing very special. At 139 per person I can think of better ways to spend my money in Alaska. Our guide Casey was very pleasant and friendly. There was one part of the trail the got hearts racing, and that section lasted all of 2 mins,... More

We don't get many opportunities to drive a 4x4 Jeep on bumpy off-road conditions. So that was fun, especially for the kids. However, it was a disappointing that we only drove 6 miles out, stopped at a "camp site", got eaten by mosquitoes, and drove back the same 6 mile road we came in on. (At least the mosquitoes got... We had three generations on this backcountry jeep tour and they all loved it! The kids especially enjoyed the bumps and wondering if we were going to get stuck in the mud. At the halfway point they stop and give you a snack of stew, which was quite tasty.

Our jeep drive down Stampede Rd was OK. You might enjoy the rugged roads with bumps, dips and mud holes if you've never done anything like this before. Our tour guide didn't have a lot of personality but kept the communication going over a two-way radio with some interesting bits of information.........and challenged us with some trivia questions on the... We were so excited about this excursion on our recent trip to Denali National Park. We have taken jeep excursions on other trips and enjoyed every minute of them. If you enjoy driving a 4-wheel drive jeep down a sometimes muddy and sometimes dusty one-lane road, then this might interest you. We drove about 12 miles down Stampede Road through... More
