Alaska Alpine Adventures is a high class outfit! This day trip adventure to Denali starts with a flight to Denali where you get a stunning view of the valley, the glaciers and the peak itself (weather willing). K2 Aviation is a top notch operator with very knowledgeable pilots which adds to the trip. After landing, we hiked as far as... More

I have done numerous backpacking trips where I used a guide service. Without question, AAA was one of the best. I went a 7-day backpacking trek and our guides were very knowledgeable and fun to be around. The communication prior to my trek was outstanding and once I arrived in Anchorage I received a phone call from AAA just to... More

If you had one day in Alaska and had to pick one thing to do, flying with K2 Aviation to Denali National Park for a 3 hour hike guided by Alaska Alpine Adventures would fit the bill very nicely. K2 Aviation flew us out to Moraine Lake aboard a "de Havilland Beaver" airplane. What a fantastic ride from a great... More

"Denali Backcountry Guides", owner/ guide, Jeffrey Ottmers and his staff, are the people to contact for an "icing on the cake" tour trip in Denali National Park. Jeff was easy to contact. (www.walkdenali.com) (830-266-9255) The staff at ERA Helicopters LLC picked us up at our lodge, brought us to the flight pad, and began the safety instructions. We watched a... More

We did this hike on a very bad weather day it was raining and the trails were flooded. But the group we were with was able to do the advanced hike which was 6 miles total. We saw a moose prints but we saw no wildlife. The hike was moderate to strenuous mostly because of the flooded trails and uneven... More

I was supposed to take the Lake Clark basecamp trip at Turquoise Lake, but I ended up joining a group backpacking in Denail for 7 days. Wow! This was the trip of a lifetime, the coolest thing I have ever done. Basically any trip you do with Alaska Alpine Adventures is going to be first-class (if you can say that... More

We booked this excursion through our Princess Cruisetour. We took a shuttle bus from the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge into Talkeetna, and K2 Aviation flew us into Denali National Park via a DeHavilland Beaver floatplane. Esther was our able pilot, and it was an interesting experience to take off and land on water. We touched down on Moraine Lake... More

Had a fabulous week paddling the Marsh Fork and hiking in ANWR, followed by hiking near Lake Clark and bear viewing in Katmai. All thanks to Dan, Haley and AAA. What great guides and delicious meals! Totally recommend them for any type of outdoor adventure as AAA will make it happen!

In August, I joined Alaska Alpine Adventures for a terrific trip to the Gates of the Arctic NP. This was a true wilderness trip: physically demanding, mentally challenging, deep into some of the most breathtaking and remote wilderness I have ever seen. I had complete faith in the expert guides and they provided a outstanding experience. I will definitely travel... More
