We visited Denali on a beautiful, clear day, and we're glad we did. We decided to extend our parks department tour from Eielson because of the weather, and would agree with other reviews that the weather is the deciding point here. Had it been cloudy or rainy, it wouldn't have been worth the extra time. Our park service driver was... More

A hike to Wonder Lake is a definite must while in Denali. You will not be disappointed...one of the most beautiful sights you will ever see. The lake is like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains!

you hike ( you could say : stroll) around "blueberry hill". If you are lucky it will not be cloudy and you will see Mt Mc Kinley in all its glory, if it is cloudy you will appreciate the blueberry busshes, the lake and spotting tundra .

We took the Wonder Lake Shuttle Bus...not a charter bus, for sure, sort of like an old school bus, but it met our needs. Our tour guide was great and we saw LOTS of wildlife: Grizzly Bear, Caribou, moose and eagles...along with some smaller critters that were just as beautiful. We were worried that 11 hours round trip would be... More

Words don't describe the beauty of the entire area it must not be missed, the ride into it is a bit long but well worth it.

This lake is only accessible by shuttle bus about 90 miles into the park. It is a short walk from the road once the bus drops you off. We needed nets for our heads here because of the mosquitos.

Large lake great for canoeing, not for swimming(freezing). Look for the nesting pair of loons. Bug spray is a must. Great for reflection photos of Denali when it is sunny and without clouds. Bathrooms at one end. Located in the park, you must go by park bus.

Even though the day we went to Wonder Lake, it was an overcast day and we didn't get to see Mt. McKinley, it was absolutely beautiful. We picked up a ranger on our tour and she gave us wonderful information about the area. I'm sure the lake would be gorgeous with Mt. McKinley in the background.

The lake is spiracular. The water is so clear. On the right side of the trail leading down to the lake are blue berry bushes and the misquotes wait to eat you alive. They are MILLIONS and they will pick you up and carry you away,

We took the 11 hour bus ride to Wonder Lake and even though it was a day of low clouds and no sights of Denali, it was a great trip. We saw lots of wild life and our bus driver was great. We were glad we had bug spray and bug hoods, the mosquitos were big. The next day the... More
