Quite a bus ride in, but worth it. Beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife on the drive in and out. Pretty lake, excellent hiking in the area. Been here twice, the mosquitos were nuts in July but not bad in early August.

Not worth the extra journey to the lake unless you are camping there! Period.
There is a reflection pond where you can take great photos, but the probability that you can get a good shot is less than 20%. As you know the mountain is almost always under cloud cover. We had excellent weather that day and decided to take...

We stopped here on the Kantishna Expereince Tour bus trip. It is beautiful. People say just take the shuttle bus and don't pay for the tour but they are wrong you get so much more insight and knowledge from the drivers it is worth every penny and then some.Just do it!
About half the time we've visited Denali we have taken the bus all the way to Wonder Lake... I wish I would have known sooner... I would have gone all the way out to Wonder Lake every trip.
***The bus ride all the way out to Wonder Lake makes for at least a 12 hour trip (round trip). Be prepared...

Birds are commonly seen and visitors frequently report wonderful views of a variety of wildlife (moose, caribou) at the lake and in surrounding areas. The...

Wonder Lake is beautiful. A great place to eat lunch, relax, and enjoy nature. Very calming atmosphere. We're glad we made the long trip.
The history of the name of the lake is what that is most fascinating to me. Allow at least 9 hours to get there and back on the shuttles. Definitely nice view.
I'm not sure quite what I was expecting, but I was definitly disappointed. If the weather cooperates, I think anyone would enjoy the view Wonder Lake provides, but after a long bus ride, the wonder of Wonder Lake was a let down. The mosquito's are everywhere so bring spray. It's a nice lake but I've see many more twice as...
