We stayed 3 nights at Kantishna Roadhouse. Went by Wonder Lake traveling both to and from while on their bus. I also rode up there on mountain bike 2 days in a row... WOW! a most inspiring sight. Spoke with a NPS ranger - told her she must have the best job in the whole world, living and working at... More

We rode the Park Bus to Wonder Lake . . even though it is a several hour bus ride, there are several stops with time to get off the bus, take photos and explore a bit. If you ask, your bus driver, while not a tour guide, will give brief narration of key sights along the way. We seen several... More

Meh! I don't regret camping, but the campground is much further from the lake than is necessary. Designated camp sites are small, on compacted ground, and they're right on top of each other. You can hear, smell, and practically touch your neighbors. Facilities are good though for bathroom, kitchen...

A wonderful mountain lake with views that cannot be equalled anywhere. While biking and hiking in the area over 4 days we saw moose, caribou, porcupine and most of all the reflection of Denali. Words cannot describe, you just have to see it.

If the wind is calm and the water like glass - Mt Denali is reflected in the water surface - great photo.

We traveled on a clear, beautiful day. The lake was nice but not fantastic. I am glad we went since it was a very nice day but if the weather was less than perfect, I would skip it.

It's 86 miles in, but what a ride. Never know what you will see. Some of the passes are like looking down from a plane.

We booked a tour by Wonder lake bus shuttle on last day for the season. It was cloudy & snowy but the lake was beautiful & serene.

very pretty area, but not much here. I would stop my trip at the Eielson Visitor center, spend more time around that area, and then return to the entrance.
