When we visited Wonder Lake it cleared up a bit and we had a wonderful view. And we saw a lot of beautiful birds and other animals. Even a huge moose and a bear! But don't forget the Deed, the mosquitos will eat you!

Loved everything about Wonder Lake area. Beautiful views at every turn, great hiking trails for every level............did I mention the views???? Only bad thing were the mosquitoes. I recommend bringing bug juice (as much as I don't like using it), long sleeved shirt and a head net if you are going to spend a day out here.

We would have just gone as far as the Eyelson Center if we did this again. We went to Wonder Lake and it wasn't worth the extra miles we drove. We tried to eat our lunch here but it was just a mosquito invasion. Also, the bathrooms were a long way from the bus.

We stayed inside Denali National Park, so were able to hike near the lake, heard the loons that were nesting on it, and actually got to see Mount Denali reflected in it. I know there is a campground near it, bring mosquito netting, and repellant!!

This a great location for canoeing (if you are lucky enough to be staying at Camp Denali/North Face Lodge) and viewing Denali on a clear day.

We got lucky the day of "Wonder lake " Bus tour in Denali National Park as Sun was out and it was crystal clear day. It was a ride of life time , 11 hour of trip did not feel boring as we were constantly engaged by sights of wildlife (grizzles, caribou, Mountain sleep ,Moose, etc) and the views are... More

Just came back from a 14 day AK vayk. Getting a glimpse of McKinley was a must on our trip. Spend two days at Wonder Lake and wanted to provide a few pointers. 1. It's a long 6 hour bus ride out and back. I recommend staying in the camp ground because 11 hours in one day on a school... More

It is an 11 hour round trip from WAC to Wonder Lake. To save some of your time and money just in case, I recommend you book the shuttle trip to Eielson Visitor Center first, and upgrade it to Wonder Lake at Eielson Center if the weather is good and you can see Mt. Mckinley. To me, it is not... More

Takes a bit to get out there. Can not drive your car, must take park bus. Tip: arrange travel through the national park service directly and not through hotel/cruise line and save big bucks. It is only 1.5 miles from Denali village. Worth doing if you love nature.

It was a long bus ride, but well worth it! We saw moose, caribou, a wolf, eagles, ducks, geese, dall sheep and more! We loved it!
