beautiful views of Mt Mckinley; but did not catch any trout. We were able to access this area by bus on way into the park. We then came back to the area via van [5 miles]. Biking to and from was quite exhilerating.

A lovely location, but the mosquitos can, and will, carry you away, if you aren't sufficiently protected with chemicals. It was still worth it.

Wonder Lake is a beautiful, secluded campground with panoramic views of Mt. McKinley on a clear day. It's the deepest campground within the park at Mile 85. It also has 2 great hikes - the McKinley Bar Trail and the Reflection Pond. The amenities are great - cooking shelter & bearproof storage locker, potable water, nice bathrooms with flush toilets,... We hiked around wonder lake. It's really pretty and peaceful there. There was a beaver building a dam and the color of the water is stunning. Definitely a fun thing to do when you are visiting the park.

This was a wonderful stopping point of the park bus loop. The water was so clear, but still a little too cold to take a dip. Beautiful views and vegetation to explore. Would have liked to take a camper and stayed over. Saw a lot of wildlife on the way there and back. Take some drinks and snacks if you... More

Had it been a nicer day I think this would have been a good place to take a less strenuous hike, It was very pretty but not worth the extra time on the bus for us. By this time the bus was getting a little uncomfortable and some of the ride was a bit scary

Once at Eilson we extended our Park bus ride to Wonder Lake. Not sure I would do except later in evening. Light not great for photography until later in day.

Just a lake at the end of the road with mosquitoes. In hind-sight we would have ended our bus trip at Eielison Center.

Took the 8+ hour bus ride (a school bus type) out to Wonder Lake. Very scenic. Not a lot to do on the trip. The bus does stop to view whatever wildlife people can spot. There are 3 stops where you can get out and stretch. While it does provide the view, I was not overly wow'd. Camping out there... More
