Who would think that I'm a place like Death Valley there is a free flowing stream. This is such a unique environment. The road out is only about 2 miles, but it is rough dirt. Make the effort. Where can you see fish in spring in the desert. These are amazing. This site has a raise Boardwalk trail with interpretive... More

It is weird that we haven't found any pupfish in the water. We have seen many many of them in Ash Meadows NWR. This place is very different from most of other attractions in Death Valley. I find many birds.

I stopped here on my tour of Death Valley in August in the middle of the day. It was beautiful and there are interesting information boards along the slatted wooden walk. There was no water / fish when I was there because it was the middle of summer.

Unless the Valley is really in a parched state, which it was last autumn, this boardwalk along Salt Creek, is a delight. At any time of the year the colors in the surrounding hills, and the lush green vegetation make for excellent pictures, and it is an easy path to follow on the boardwalk. Visit the only place where you... More

With the lure of seeing a Salt Creek Pupfish we made the walk along the excellent board walk just on twilight, a most pleasant stroll with no crowds. The boardwalk provides an excellent walk above the running water and desert bushes, but our efforts to see the elusive pupfish were unrewarded, as expected. Well worth the effort for such a... More

It is a beautiful, 1/2 mile, boardwalk trail around salt creek. There was actually water while we were there and we saw a few birds in the greenery.

This is on Badwater Road. It was different from anything else we saw. It was a nice point to get out and take a short walk.

When it has water, it is a great experience. You are driving through nothingness, including on the dirt road to get to the parking lot, and all of a sudden, you come to a bit of an oasis with running water and vegetation. The "creek" seems to come from the middle of nowhere and then to disappear. There is a... More

My husband and I visited this two weeks ago in the midst of the summer heat. Though we knew it would be doubtful for there to be any water remaining, we were hopeful for at least a small puddle. No luck. Not a drop of water to be found, let alone any fish. However, with that said, the short walk... More
