We went to Island in the Sky and The Needles sectors of the Park. We enjoyed Island in the Sky the most, because a rain shower had just passed through, clearing the dust out of the air. The view from Grand View Point is astounding: you are standing on a high, dissected plateau above the White Rim level, which is... More

If you have one day to visit Canyonlands then go to the Island in the Sky area. This is still 35 miles from Moab so it will take you a while to drive there, but also I highly recommend stopping off at Dead Horse Point Overlook (State Park $10 entry) en route for some stunning views. It's well worth it.... More

So much to see so little time! There are interesting rock formations everywhere, loads of great photo opportunities for keen landscape and travel photographers abound! Unfortunately only had time to see the northern part of the park as we had largely concentrated on Arches National park...but will definitely be back for more!

Canyonlands National Park was a real privilege to see and can only repeat what others have said that it is absolutely spectacular. We felt very fortunate too to find Dead Horse Point which is a particularly stunning area of Canyonlands, especially at dawn. As the sun rises, the whole area becomes mystical and ethereal. If there is only one place... More

We spent an afternoon in Canyonlands NP. The scenery is very different than Arches NP even though the parks are close in proximity. We hiked to the left butte on Aztec Butte Trail at the suggestion of the park ranger. The hike wasn’t too strenuous until the end when walking across slick rock to get to The Granary. Once there... The scenery here is very different but quite spectacular but not to the standard of Arches but still really good and worth a visit. Visit all the lookouts and try for a clear day as the canyons are large and sometimes in the distance. Agood place to visit

We spent the afternoon in visiting the northern part of Canyonlands to avoid the heat of the day in Arches. This park takes a backseat to the more popular Arches but is worth a visit if you want to see the beginnings of the Grand Canyon. There are many overlooks for viewing and one short but strenuous hike to the... More

Very few people on the hiking trails. There are some great short hikes with level terrain and beautiful views. Great photograph opportunities

OK so we've written numerous reviews on Utah NPs but honestly they are the best (so far). We thought we would spend a few hours in Canyonlands and wind up spending an entire day. Each trail was better than the last and Mesa Arch was spectactular (a must see). If you are visiting Utah NPs don't forget about Canyonlands.

This Park is well worth a visit, seeing the Mesa Arch, just awesome. So many magnificent views from just walking around, a must see for anyone.
