We entered Canyonlands from just north of Moab. The drive in/up to the park are grand as well as once you arrive into the park. There are several points with great views. When you visit, be sure to plan to also visit Dead Horse Point (a UT state park).

We visited 5 parks in southern Utah and Canyonlands ranks behind Zion, Bryce and Arches and even or a bit ahead of Capitol Reef. Having said that, my opinion may be better had we not gone from here to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Really not fair to compare anything with Grand Canyon. It is worth your time... More

We planned on spending all day in this Park, but after 4 hours, we left. Some of the scenery is spectacular. We did the 2 mile RT hike at Grand View - interesting, buy not great. We did the Mesa Arch 30 minute loop. Mesa Arch is OK, but not like those in Arches. The Mesa Loop walk needs better... More

We loved both of the drastically differing northern and southern areas of Canyonlands. Incredible scenery and views! Whether you're hiking or just a driving/sight seeing trip, Canyonlands is definitely worth the drive and time it takes to get to both areas.

Lots of interesting places to see here in Canyonlands National Park. There are a couple of short hikes (but steep). The views are gorgeous. The park was not as crowded as I had thought it would be.

I thought I wouldn't be so impressed, since this isn't THE Grand Canyon. I was wrong. It is different, and to me, I felt more attached and interested in the vistas and the evolution of the canyons than I had been at G.C. For me, the Grand Canyon is about size and power. There was something more subtle in Canyonlands.... More

My husband says Arches is just as good, just different and he's right, but I still enjoyed Canyonlands more I think. The view here is just so incredible and has a little bit of every landscape. More variety than Arches imo. Don't miss the Aztec Butte hike to see the pueblo granary and Mesa Arch. Also, the Chesler Park loop... More

For most of the trails in the Needles District you will find the trails challenging, and in places downright dangerous. But the amazing rock formations and rugged views are well worth it. Backpack it if you can manage a permit.

We went to the park and spent all day in the area called Island of the Sky - not the Needles. It was incredible. We spent all day there; did not do any of the longer hikes but the ones we did were incredible. Tips - Hiking shoes are the best, hiking poles get in the way, no potable water,... More

I am a hiker and I find canyon lands is more attractive to me compared with arches. The hike to upheaval dome is a very memorable one and the view at grand view point is also breath-taking. I visited only island in the sky this time and plan to come back to visit other sections of the park in the... More
