Like Arches, photos cannot justify the beauty and landscape. I liked this park better than Arches because the landscape just overwhelmed me. It is hard to take it all in with just one visit. Keep in mind there are three parts to this park. Check out the park's website before visiting.

The park had many pull off areas. The rangers were very nice, and we enjoyed our trip through. I would stop into the visitors center but avoid needles outpost at all cost.

Canyonlands is an overwhelmingly beautiful site, that photos cannot describe. It's a natural wonder along the lines of the Grand Canyon and a must see for anyone traveling the area. Most of the sights are large expansive views which are easily reached by short trails. We did the Lathrop trail also- 6 miles round trip which had a really nice... More

This was our second visit to Canyonlands and the first time we visited the South section. The hike to the Needles is simply stunning and one of the highlights of our trip. Great place.

Canyonlands is an excellent park. Do some hiking, avoid the crowds of Arches, but Mesa Arch is unbelievable as it is a view of the Grand Canyon beginning through an Arch. Way more interesting than any of the Arches in Arches national Park. Well, worth the visit!!!

There is a lot to see in the Moab area. One might think that the terrain is the same, but each park has different things to see. We didn't have time to explore more in the park, so this is something that will be put on a "must return" list. Gorgeous scenery. Walking up to Mesa Arch is easy and... More

We visited the Island in the Sky section of Canyonlands and were blown away by the breathtaking views. We didn’t have time for any of the longer hikes, but we did get a chance to complete several shorter hikes. The views from Grand View Point were absolutely amazing. We also hiked to the overlook at Upheaval Dome and Mesa Arch,... More

There are three entrances to Canyonlands with Island in the Sky being the closest to Moab. We were there on a bitterly cold day so we were not able to do the amount of hiking we would have liked. However, there are 3 main stops in this section of the park, Mesa Arch, Upheaval Dome and Grand View Point. Grand... More

I visited in April 2013. I totally enjoyed my hike through Chesler Park trail! The scenery is spectacularly out of this world! It's been two years since I last visited and I can't stop thinking about this place! I have to go back! I will make sure I give myself plainly of time to throughly enjoy this park!

There is miles and miles and miles of beauty to see in this area. Both Island in the Sky and Needles. If you have a high clearance vehicle, you can drive White Rim Road from Island in the Sky. Also, you can drive through and pear over the side down to White Rim which is a fantastic view in itself.... More
