This is one of my favorite National Parks. We picked us an audio tour CD at the visitors center and are glad we did. The vistas are incredible but go early if you are there in summer because parking is a premium. Don't miss the short hikes at most of the turnouts, especially Upheaval Dome.

The sights at Canyonlands were totally awesome. We did the well traveled route but wished that we had been more adventurous. Four wheel is the way to go to get to the belly of the park.

The Arches is just down the road and is, arguably, a better way to spend a day. Still, you should go to this magnificent place. It is an entirely different outdoor experience and because of that, worthwhile. I do have one regret about our visit. . . . . We didn't plan enough time. If you go, and you should,... More

This park is well worth driving to from Moab. We went to Arches which is more well known than Canyonlands but I am glad we went here also. We did most of Island in the Sky in a half of day. Our favorite part of the park was Mesa Arch; amazing.

Only 30 minutes form Arches National Park and the town of Moab. Absolutely gorgeous. I've never been to the Grand Canyon but I imagine it to be something like a bigger version of Canyonlands. Not to say that Canyonlands isn't impressive but I think it just covers less land. The park has several areas that look so different from the... More

Canyonlands is a must see if you like sightseeing in the Colorado Plateau. The park has a lot to offer, from arches, to craters to sweeping views of the deeply carved canyons, fins and needles. The adjectives are there for you to fill in .... Majestic Canyonlands, Varied Canyonlands, Mysterious Canyonlands, Quiet Canyonlands....don't miss seeing this place.

Our visit to Moab was inspired by the better known Arches National Park. Canyonlands was an add on as we had chosen to stay an extra day. What a delightful surprise. Upon entering the park we stopped at the visitor station. The park ranger was extremely helpful. Noticing the rather large camera around my neck, she inquired how serious I... More

A lot of driving and hiking is required to really see it so plan accordingly. The views are panoramic and impressive. More than an afternoon is suggested.
