This is a beautiful park with tons of places to explore. We came across a backpacking traveler named Corbett who had been camping on her own for about 5 days and gave her a ride into Moab. One of our best moments was at Mesa Arch. The view is spectacular!! We also enjoyed Upheaval Dome. The skinny bicycle festival was... More

We went to Canyonlands in early June of last year and our favorite section is Island in the Sky. Mesa Arch was our favorite attraction but Whale Rock was fun too and great for kids. It was windy when we were there though. Upheaval Dome was an interesting hike too and if you go far enough you can look at... More

If you come to this area, then of course you're going to visit Canyonlands National Park-- it's incredible! It's a super accessible park too, with lots of payoff for not a lot of walking. The canyons are stunning and there's no surprise as to how popular this place is in the summer. But if at all possible, come on a... More

Canyonlands National Park has three separate areas formed by the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers -- Island in the Sky, in the north, just outside Moab, the Needles district, in the southeast portion and the Mazes district in the southwest portion. We visited Needles and Island in the Sky. The drive in to the Needles Visitor Center runs... More

Canyonlands is divided into three separate sections with no single road connecting the three portions so we opted to see Island In The Sky, the Northeastern Section of the park, this trip. The drives are beautiful and allow physical and visual access to various rock formations and the visitor center provides a very good film about the geological formations. Color,... More

Was able to be there when the sun went down and is was truly awesome. Loved all of the rock canyons, hiking trails are well marked and are easy to hike on. Well worth the day that we spend there.

I liked Canyonlands NP (Island in the Sky section), but didn't love it. There were amazing views and some interesting geological specimens, but it didn't have the wow factor for me. The hikes we did were interesting, and the short hike to Mesa Arch revealed that the arch was in fact much smaller than expected (when you see it in... More

Canyonlands was very beautiful. Much of the park can be seen from well kept lookouts. The scenery is sweeping and covering a vast area. It looks very "jurassic", like you'd expect to see a large dinosaur tromping across the land. Also, if you are going to Canyonlands you will probably be visiting Arches national Park as well. My suggestion is... More

January is probably not best season to visit Utah and Canyonlands, but we were absolutely happy to be there... Fantastic breathtaking views, amazing landscape covered with whitest snow and .... nobody around. I can't express the feelings when you are standing at the edge of canyon and observe endless stone prairie alone... Definitely the Best canyon park in my humble... More

Plenty of easy hikes for us to do with our toddlers, and when the kids were too tired/we didn't want to unbuckle them, plenty to see from the car just driving around too. Very beautiful and so glad we took a vacation there with our little family. Can't wait until our kids are older so we can go backpacking and... More
