This is a great spot for photos and the visitor center is well stocked especially on a hot summer day when you need something to drink and a restroom. If you are a photo enthusiast you can get great panoramas from here.

Best sunrise spot in the Moab area...besides Mesa Arch. Very accessible by car and the overlook is within a few yards of the parking lot. Actually located within Dead Horse Point State Park, not Canyonlands National Park.

Just loved Dead Horse, could have spent hours just soaking in the beauty and ambiance of this park. It was truly my favorite of all Moab destinations. I'll return here again on my 5th roadtrip out that way, A must see !!!

Dead Horse Point State Park is a short detour off slow and scenic Hwy 313, 11 miles northeast of Islands in the Sky. Do not miss seeing this attraction. At the end of the four mile drive, one is confronted with beautiful view of the Colorado River. The drop down to the river is about 2000 ft and as you... More

Park where opening scene of mission impossible 2 was shot. This park will give you a break from other national parks. $10 admission for vehicle. View of Colorado river and horseshoe bend.

Dead Horse Point surprised me. It's actually a State Park, not formally connected to the Canyonland National Park. The road to it turns off before you get to the park. It's less expensive ($10 instead of $30) and the facilities are first-rate. I thought the views were as good or better than anything I say in the National Park (though... More

One of the many spectacular views in Canyonlands overlooking green river. Driving the steep, narrow dirt road through the canyon and looking up was equally amazing!

An important point of clarity is Dead Horse Point is not actually located within Canyonlands National Park but instead is a Utah State Park located next to Canyonlands. That being said you still get a view of Dead Horse Point from Canyonlands but the view from Dead Horse Point State Park itself is stunning and perhaps the best view in... More

Best view & bargain in area. Do not miss Dead Horse point and then back to Moab via Pucker Pass. Be sure to have breakfast or lunch at the BEST café, Eklectic Café! !
