Favorite part of Canyonlands for sure! The river bend is just stunning and well worth the drive. We got there just as the sun was setting and loved the colors and beautiful views that it had. Bring a camera for sure! You won't want to miss the chance to capture this!

Along w/Arches, this is a place that everyone should put on their Bucket List ... to see. It is amazing. Many movies used this as a backdrop since the landscape is unique. Bring a decent digital camera (not just your phone), and hopefully have a wide-angle lens. Best in the early morning or late in the day because of the... More

Dead Horse Point is a bit out of Moab but definitely worth the 30-minute drive to get there. We went in the late afternoon (when it was cooler) to see the Colorado River and watch the sunset. Great viewing areas and places to see what Utah is all about from all sides.

Just a day after astonishing Hike in Canyonlands, in the needles. We did the loop (East + West Rim) by foot, but it's just a dirt road from one view point with a parking lot to another. The views were great, but the hike didn't add challenge or the reward of having a view you couldn't have if you just... More

I loved the view and the hike. You can take the east rim hike which connects to the west rim hike for 4 miles total. There were little lizards and cactus blooms all around the trail. We all liked the east rim hike better than the west. We hiked for fun, but you can drive just as easily. I had... More

Dead horse state park has amazing views that rivals the grand canyon. The cowboy and horse story was very interesting. Nice vistors center and picnicking areas. Definitely will be visiting here again.

There are two exceptional places to watch a sunrise at Canyonlands. One is Mesa Arch, the other is Dead Horse Point. As you can see from the attached photo I grabbed early morning...it's a spectacular view. The drive from Moab is about 40 minutes. Leave early and plan to arrive about 30 minutes before sunrise. The early twilight is something... More

I have to say that I like Dead Horse Park better than Canyonlands for hiking and photos. We hiked Canyonlands Park the day before starting at sunrise at Mesa Arch. Maybe it was lack of caffeine and cloudy skies but the hikes seemed uninteresting. Dead Horse Park -really unfortunate name -like a testament to mans' inhumanity to horse - made... More

A vast view of what a river and erosion has done to churn out a magnificent canyon.... Upper Canyonlands shows may views of the canyons but Dead Horse Point really has a panoramic view of an awesome canyon and its valleys, buttes and spectacular scenery.

Wonderful sights once you are there, but travel along UT 313 is very upsetting. We were tail gated by a large tanker truck for 3 miles coming down. The area near the Park is filled with oil wells and drill rigs and more trucks. It is sad to see this beautiful area being exploited.
