You can get a great view of Thor's Hammer by taking the Navajo Loop Trail in a clockwise direction. You will pass it early, so if you don't want to do the entire trail you can turn back. We did the entire loop and the scenery and rock formations were amazing!

Well known and easily recognized. Traveled during the winter and was treated with a large snow storm, which gave the hammer a very unique look.

Hard to see from the lookout at Sunrise point but if you go down the trail towards the Bridges you will get a much better view of it. Hard to miss it.

Yes, we saw it towards the end of our Navaho-Peekaboo Trail, plus the Queen Trail. You can see it if you just descend far enough on the Navaho Trail (take the left, not the right, as you descend). It is an iconic view, known to many of you from the postcards etc. Again, the picture changes with the light as... More

Great formation to check out while on the Queens and Navajo Loop. It is an interesting Hoodoo! Amazing to think how that formation was created!

I sometimes think folks make up names for some of the formations just to amuse the tourists. We saw the same at Arches National Park. Just have to see Thor's Hammer, you say, and you pass by thousands of other very unique specimens as you hurry to see "the" one. This is especially true if you use a telescopic lens... More

A rock work of art, but there are so many in this canyon! Of all the attractions in Bryce, this is probably my least favorite. (just my humble opinion of course) Easy hike to see it, at the top of the trail. It will be gone due to weathering so it is defiantly worth a visit while it is still... More

Ok, simply put Thor was my 1st favorite superhero and the fact that someone else immortalized him by naming the most notable formation in Bryce after his Mjolnir(pronounced "Me-ol' nar) aka The Hammer is just cool.

I is great to see but it is funny how many other great sites there are around the park that you can see and how much attention Thor's Hammer gets. Worth taking the time and going to see for sure but don't miss everything else.
