Great overview of the National Monument especially the movie they show. Rangers are most helpful and knowledgeable.

We stopped so my son could get a junior ranger packet for the junior ranger program. The center has a lot of information about the Badlands, but our favorite part was the fossil lab. There are real fossils the archaeologists are working on. They have great information and made it easily understandable for my 7 year old, who was really... More

We spent a very windy day in the Badlands National Park . We enjoyed the stop at the Ben Reifel Visitor Center to watch the film. They had lots of interesting & informative displays.

As always, begin any National Park visit at the visitor center. The Rangers are incredibly helpful in pointing you to the things you want and need to see, and in helping the experience that much better.

Nice center, they have a movie, ranger programs, a good-sized giftshop, and it's a great place to get out of the heat and cool down!

The visitor Center was clean, interesting, and seemed recently updated. So many of these seem like they haven't been touched in 20 years. This one has a nice gift shop, full of interesting gifts for kids, many of which are educational. But by far the favorite part was the fossil lab. Where an actual palentologist,Amanda, was working to uncover a... More

After driving the Sage gravel road and doing the asphalt drive, we stopped at the visitor center to stamp our passport, see the movie, buy the park book, and plan a hike. Nice, well stocked facility, but the older female ranger we talked to seemed about as interested in helping us as clerks at Wallmart.

Really nice gift shop. Clean restrooms. Outstanding people working the desk helping visitors. Parking lot is good size. Would have liked to see more on how the park was formed.

Had a 20 minute film about the park, its Indian heritage and the wildlife. Worth watching. The fossil room was interesting and the other exhibits about the park were fairly well done. Used the restroom and got a cup of hot chocolate that cut the chill of the 50 degree temp. We'll probably stop here next time we're in the... More
