This was a beautiful spot to see in Acadia. The water was FREEZING and that was in early August. There was a lot of seaweed as well but it was a nice spot to enjoy the scenery and walk around. There is a place to wash your feet and change if need to. And bathrooms. Go early though because by... More

The ocean always changes and we had the opportunities to see it with huge waves smashing the shoreline and rocks and blissfully calm. There were a few people brave enough to try the cold water but most were sunning on the sand. There are restrooms and places to wash the sand off. Parking was difficult off season so taking transportation... More

I was so disappointed at Sand beach of Acadia state park for my late August trip. There were four-smelling seaweed piles up on Sand beach, flying too bugs many bugs, which I didn't expected. Maybe I visited the Sand beach at a right time for my kids to play a sand castle on with the sand on the beach. So... More

The sand beach is unusual in Maine, but it is nice to have at least a small beach where you can relax and dip in the cold waters. The water was clean very cold, but Cape Cod ocean water is even colder, so it's not bad at all, its just different experience. Its also beautiful, surrounded by mountains...

A nice stop off the route through the park with a long sandy beach and dramatic rocks. The ADA access seemed to stop ar a small elevated viewing area above the beach, so you have to do a bunch of stairs to get onto the beach.

This is a great place to sit and relax. There are small signs that deem the water unsafe for swimming. There were people swimming and there is a lifeguard on duty but they do say swim at your own risk due to the water condition on testing. It is a beautiful cove and a great place to walk on the... A beautiful spot. Not what I consider your average beach because it's more of an attraction rather than a place to spend an entire day, but a nice place to walk down to the water, take in the views and let the kids run around for a few minutes. We walked to Otter Cliffs from here, it was a nice... More

It's a nice beach and it is a rarity in coastal Maine and there are nice views but still, did you really come to Acadia National Park to go to the Beach? Parking is horrible and people are downright nasty about parking spots that do become available. It is worth a stop and see if parking is available but if... More

Beautiful. Gorgeous. Amazing. Insert synonym here. My wife really wanted us to go to Acadia, and I'm sure glad she talked me into it. The water is pretty cold in late-June, but it is such an awesome place just to walk around. If you're anywhere nearby, definitely worth the trip.
