This is a great place to sit and relax. There are small signs that deem the water unsafe for swimming. There were people swimming and there is a lifeguard on duty but they do say swim at your own risk due to the water condition on testing. It is a beautiful cove and a great place to walk on the... A beautiful spot. Not what I consider your average beach because it's more of an attraction rather than a place to spend an entire day, but a nice place to walk down to the water, take in the views and let the kids run around for a few minutes. We walked to Otter Cliffs from here, it was a nice... More

It's a nice beach and it is a rarity in coastal Maine and there are nice views but still, did you really come to Acadia National Park to go to the Beach? Parking is horrible and people are downright nasty about parking spots that do become available. It is worth a stop and see if parking is available but if... More

Beautiful. Gorgeous. Amazing. Insert synonym here. My wife really wanted us to go to Acadia, and I'm sure glad she talked me into it. The water is pretty cold in late-June, but it is such an awesome place just to walk around. If you're anywhere nearby, definitely worth the trip.

Sand beach is a nice little beach for laying out and catching some sunshine. It's not very ideal for swimming though as it is absolutely freezing. I went once in the day light and then again at night for a park ranger star gazing event. I would highly recommend anyone going look into attending the ranger event. The ranger who... More

The water temperature never is warm enough to swim in my opinion, but I always "have" to go and look at the beach and walk on the sand (and up to my ankles in the water, weather permitting). I would definitely go in the morning if you are there just to take pictures as the parking lot fills up quickly.

Parking is a problem there even on a Monday. The beach is wide and deep with some good views. Some people brought chairs and sat there and soaked in the sun. It is good for a quick stop if you can find parking safely.

A nice beach, tho water shoes are a big plus. Best to try and wait for a space in the lot as once you park above, you either have to trek your stuff up or catch a ride on the trolley.

Great views, cold water and nice sandy beach make this a must see in Acadia. If you have kids, they can splash around in the water and you can lay on the sandy beach. There are hiking trails and facilities nearby. Stop here for a few hours when you are in Acadia.
